  I am very deeply confused. I am bunnt sitting and it is thought to be a little boy bunny, but he is very young. so I decided to introduce him to my other buns one at a time in a feance, all buns on harnesses. Well I started with Greyson greyson would run over to the bunny really fast then sniff then dash away. Thatts all he did. So after a little while i put greyson up, and took out Jenna. If you remember, Greyson would always groom and try to mate with Jenna, he was in L<3 VE!! the few times i let them play together i would remove him from her and obviouslyy see his, um male part ssticking out. Well when I put greyson up and Jenna out Jenna and Collin (collin is the bunny i am babysitting) hadnt yet really acknowlegged eack other, then While playing on a little box Collin fell off and bumped in to Jenna. So they sniffed and chilled out, then JENNNA GOT ON HIM!! I know that rabbits do this when they want to be dominant but I removed 'her' and saw a long, red, male part. I am deeply disturbed. WHAT IS GOING ON? HELP!!

  “Any intact rabbits, male or female (females are actually more territorial, and therefor more aggressive) should not be kept together.
  
  Two neutered males are actually considered by some to be the best combination of rabbits you can have.
  
  You should neuter your rabbit, anyhow, as it is much healthier for him that way. Rabbits have very high rates of reproductive illness. Plus it will reduce any unpleasant, hormone-related behaviors (spraying, aggression, marking his territory, etc.)
  
  If you do get a new rabbit, even if both are altered and have good dispositions, it is important that you bond them properly. Introduce them to each other slowly, in neutral territory, and with constant supervision. It may take several “dates” before they will come to like each other. You know they are ready to move in together when one submits to being groomed by the other.”

  Good advice. It is true that altered males can be paired and happy together. It’s also a matter of companionship and not necessarily sexuality once they are altered. You do have to introduce them and watch them though.

  im glad things may be able to go as planned, a was planning on getting them altered then they could live together. but im pretty freaked out that greyson has a ‘crush” on another guy bunny. When I first got Jenna, Greyson immediatly got on ‘her’ back and so i was like OMG YEP JENNA IS SOOO A GIRL. i didnt let him go that close toher again, but i allowed him to groom Jenna and they seemed to hit it off, but greyson would chase jenna a bit , jenna seemed scared but then they would both stop, greyson would groom her then i would separate them. The good thig is all along the bunnies knew so its not like all of the sudden they will be more aggressive because I know they are boys. So I gues things will work out, Any suggestions for a name?

  Wow, yes I guess you have two boys then! It’s very difficult to sex baby bunnies, even experienced people can make mistakes sometimes. I would not worry about Greyson humping Jenna (Jimmy, James, Jem?) b/c like you said, it is as much about dominance as it ever is about reproduction. He might have wanted to hump him to show he’s been around longer, or just b/c the bunny was new, or b/c the bunny smelled like *other* bunnies. It could be some hormonal frustration and he was so excited to see another of the same species that it didn’t matter.
  
  The fortunate thing about this: first, males are usually a bit less money to neuter than females are to spay and it’s not as invasive of a surgery. Second, it can be done much sooner (at about 3-4 months). So it sounds like Jenna may be ready to be neutered right away. The sooner you can get them both done, the sooner you can begin the bonding process.
  
  That girl’s advice on Yahoo is correct. Two neutered males are usually the easier of the same-sex pairings. The easiest being male/female (both altered), the hardest being two spayed females. Let us know how everything goes!

  Wow, Briana, quite the surprise! Just be aware that your friends bunny may also be possibly a female….unless they have had him sexed properly by a vet. So be very careful even letting Jenna (male) and Collin(male – let’s hope!) play together.
