Hello–my oldest rabbit seems to have developed a rather sensitive tummy, and I am wondering what kinds of greens might be better for him to eat along with his pellets and timothy hay?

(And yes, I have brought him to the vet, who found nothing wrong in his stool samples.  He thinks I may just have a sensitive-tum bun.)

Cute picture of Mischi with fuzz on his lip.

          Cute! A little wispy goatee!

It might be that the veggies are the culprit so you may have to eliminate them the test them one by one to see which he is particularly sensitive too. Check under DIET INFO at top of page as BinkyBunny posted doing this with her bunny Bailey who had a sensitive tum.

On actual foods that may help?….I have read weeping willow, blackberry leaves and mint can help with runny stool but have never tried this. Rolled oats is said to help dry things up too. Putting him on chiefly hay diet would help, then test the veggies and pellets too if he has them.

I don’t have any other advice to offer but I just had to comment on his goatee.   How cute. Love it.

It is also very possible that he is sensitive to the pellets and not the vegetables so consider reducing or eliminating those as well.  This might also help increase his hay intake.

What a cutie! It really is going to be some trial and error. Some buns can’t have pellets at all. Some can only tolerate certain greens, but this is going to be very specific to each individual bun. Can you tell us what “A Day in the Life of Bunny” consists of as far as his diet? What does he get, when, and in what amounts?
