I have a 2 year old mini lop, daisy. I feed her about 2 handfuls of Kale a day. I have since reading on here found out thats probably not good for her. But I don’t know what I should be feeding her, I felt like celery wasn’t filling her up and she loves the kale and didn’t think I was supposed to give her broccoli or any iceberg lettuce. Can I feed her the same green consistently? the reason I stuck to the kale is because it didn’t mess her poop up when I gave it to her and many greens do that to her and make it really soft. She is very active bunny that loves to run around but I dont wanna give her something that can hurt her. Thanks for the help!

iceberg or head lettuce is not recommended to feed rabbits or any other small animals or even reptiles (turtles) that eat greens- it has a lot of moisture but little nutritional value.

It is important to feed your rabbit greens/veggies that their tummies can handle- but variety is also important to vary the nutrition they are getting.  You should try introducing the new veggies in small amounts and record how the bunnies poos are when a small amount of a new veggie or green is offered.  See the above “Diet Information” and the detailed process of determining what grees/veggies to feed a sensitive bunny.

Do you feed hay and limited pellets also?  If you do, you rabbit should be satisfied hunger wise by having free fed hay and daily rationed amounts of pellets and greens.

sorry guys, I have a bad cold and I’m messing up here. I tried to link the website above so had to repaste it here in order to link it.

This should be the page you mentioned.

My 3 favorite staple greens together or rotated are Green Leaf lettuce, Red Leaf Lettuce and Romaine Lettuce.

Kale is okay but you don’t want to give it to her daily. It’s very nutritious and good for them though. Do look at the link – a variety is best and you can do herbs as well (I do basil, dill, and mint and sometimes arugula) along with the other greens.
