I’m getting VIP for my Holland Lop Bambi as soon as I’ve had him for 60 days, which is required for coverage. For Bambi, the woman I talked with said that it would be about $7 a month for a basic plan, and that there is a discount (I don’t know how large of one) if you pay for a year of coverage at once. You can pick out what you want covered in your plan, but what is covered affects your monthly payments. They don’t cover pre-existing conditions or genetic stuff, like dwarf bunnies’ sometime problems with molar spurs. They would, however,  cover any mouth abcesses resulting from those spurs. As far as I know, most people use VIP for their pet insurance. Once you get vet care while you’re covered, you simply pay the bill yourself at the vet’s, and then fill out and mail your claim to VIP. You’ll get a reinbursment in the mail a few days later. I’m getting pet insurance for Bambers just because I want that peace of mind- I never want to hesitate when it comes to getting the care he needs.

          Here’s VIP’s exotic animal website: http://www.petinsurance.com/Plans-And-Coverage/Exotic-Pets.aspx

I have  VIP too.  I pay 11.00 a month for 1 rabbit totals 22 for both of them.  They have an exotic plan which is for rabbits.  No I haven’t heard of any pet ins. that covers spneutering.

VPI is the only company I know of that insures rabbits- I have both rabbits and both my dogs insured.

I have VPI as well petinsurance.com. There are some things they don’t cover, like pre-existing of course, and parasitic illness and diseases (which includes e.cuniculi), but as far a everything else that’s rather common, that I have ever come across, like abscess, teeth issues, UTI, they have covered. They literally have saved me thousands of dollars over the years.

I just put in a claim for $1600 for all that has just recently happened with Jack (bladder stone), so we’ll see how they handle that. That is the largest claim I have put in all at once. The other largest one was $800.
