So, tomorrow sometime I’m getting my new baby bunny.  I got him from the shelter and he’s getting fixed.

        He’s a mini rex and I don’t know if he’s 3 or 4 months.

A woman I work with got a Holland Lop or Mini Lop from the reptile store in our center. I think he’s younger. They insisted she buy the crappy food that they feed. I tried to tell her, but they said changing the food will give him  the runs.

One thing I wanted to know. Will Bunny Basics T be fine for both of them or should they get the 15/23?

Veggies. Can I split one leaf between them? Or will that be too much? Can I also give them a tiny bit of cilantro? Will that be too much?

I think they have only been getting carrots.

I can’t wait until tomorrow. I hope he’ll be fine.

Congrats! It’s nice you’re bringing another into the familly. Are you asking qu’s on behalf of your co worker? I’m a little confused, it almaost sounds like you’ll be taking both. It is true changing their feed can cause the runs of digestive upset in general. It has to be done gradually, giving a mix of the lesser quality with the better one, then weaning them off the former. In the long run though, it’d be best if the lop can go onto a better feed so keep encouraging your co worker.   The 15/23 is good for growing bunnies.  Else I suppose you can give Basic T but give alfalfa hay also.  Ideally, if they are very young, the 15/23 be best – especially if both have been on an alfalfa based pellet.
Look forward to hearing more. Oh and Happy Birthday!….(?)……

I was asking for both bunnies at the same time. That’s what happens when your tired. I don’t know if she’ll join the forum. I need some sleep but I can’t right now, so I decided to go online.

I just found out on a mini rex site on colors his is called light castor. A light tan with a blue sheen.

Congrats one the new bun! If it were my bun, I would start him off with the Bunny Basics T. I adopted an approximately 4 month old mini rex myself and I chose to give her timothy based pellets from the get go, with a little bit of alfalfa hay in addition to unlimited timothy hay. Mini rexes are prone to weight gain, so if you do decide to start with alfalfa pellets, make sure to start switching him over to timothy at 7 months.

Got him. The shelter was very nice, I was surprised. The vet that they took him to to neuter him was quite a ways, and one of the girls didn’t come in today. I couldn’t take off to go get him. I didn’t know what to do. So, I called the shelter. It took until almost 3 o’clock to get ahold of someone that would go and get him and bring him back to the shelter which is close to work. I’m going to bring him to work for the rest of the week, to be sure he is OK, since I am gone such long hours.

I hope your new lil guy is healing well after his surgery. That’s so cool that you can bring him to work with you!

Yes it is. My coworker is going to bring her baby lop every day as well. I was thinking of waiting till next Tuesday to put them together to play.
My baby bunny is feeling fine. He has alot of energy but no name yet.

I’m named out. I wasgoing to call him blue, because his color is a light tan with a blue cast. But, the people at work don’t see the blue. They said I might as well call him green. HaHa.

I would love to but, I don’t know how and I don’t have a digital camera. I took a picture on my cell phone but you can’t see his head. It’s under hay. I thought it was cute.
