maybe you can all learn from my mistake.

do NOT… i repeat… do NOT attempt to serenade your bun bun with an xylophone.  apparently rabbits are not so very fond of them.  probably best to stay away from any instrument in the percussion family come to think of it

yesterday i inherited the xylophone that my dad made.  when i came home with it i started to plinkity plunk a bit since i don’t know any actual songs to play and after a few minutes i peeked in on the bunny.  she was frozen wide-eyed with her head cocked and ears fully perked.  looked like she had seen a ghost.  when i said hello she darted into a corner of her enclosure and glared at me.  complete and utter disapproval.

Maybe you were playing the wrong tune. Feel so sorry for the poor old rabbit, they are scared of lots of things.

aww.. poor little one. I do things like that all the time though.
Like the other day my rocking chair was squeaking as I rocked in it and I looked over at Bunny and he was frozen and wide eyed on the floor ready to run.
Poor little bunnies get so scared.

lol. i do sing to my furrbabies all the time but never with instrumental accompaniment. they’re so used to my voice that they don’t even flinch anymore. haha.

last night i found some free online sheet music for some of those old basic songs that children learn to play music with… jingle bells… ode to joy… 3 blind mice and so on. i played for about half an hour in the living room (down the hall from the bun room) and when i peeked in on pinky she was totally fine. maybe she was always fine with the music but there actually WAS a ghost the other day?

My buns DO NOT like the sounds of either my hubby’s nor my son’s voices (neither of which is musical in any sense of the word). They cannot even whisper in the same room with them, the rabbits will all either glare, freeze or thump, depending on the moment. However my daughter and I can talk, laugh or get relatively loud without incident.
I love the piano, but I don’t know that I’d care much for the xylophone myself either. Maybe I’d be glaring disapproval also…lolz. j/k Not to reflect on your playing skills at all though, BBM. Anytime I think of a xylophone, it reminds me of the Skeleton Dance cartoon from Disney.
Poor Pinky. Perhaps she is more of a rock and roll bunny? ^_^
