  so we let our little one Zee out today and she does what she always does: jumped around the room and all over us on the couch. i was working on some crochet when she jumped up on me and i felt warmth on my leg. i pushed her off and she had peed on me. is this normal? shes never done it before. she also isn’t using her box as much as she used to. i mean, she does use it, but she is leaving more and more poo outside of her box than she usually does. she is also starting to leave poos around our apartment sometimes, just one or two, but again, she never used to do this before. is this because she is maturing? she is only four months old and not clipped. if i clip her will this persist or stop or what? but mostly i am concerned about the peeing on me most of all. i don’t want her to start peeing in our apartment or worse on a guest. she is box trained, and again, this is the first time this has happened.
  
  can someone please tell me what might be going on and what i can do.

  sounds like hormones are kicking in. once you have her spayed things should go back to normal.

  I agree- sounds like hormones. You may have to restrict her time out or area where she is out if this persists. Spaying should help- it takes a bit afterwards for hormones to settle so it won’t help immediately.
  
  Cotton used to pee on my lap when I was sitting on the couch a LOT when she was younger (pre-spay). But now she is so good about not peeing on the couch it is a relief to be able to relax and not watch for “the tail lift”/warning sign of impending urine.

  Some buns also like to pee on furniture that smells the strongest like their people (beds and couches… probably the two worst places for pee.) If you notice she’s only doing this when on the furniture, you may restrict her access to the couch/bed until after she is spayed and her litter habits improve.

  I found it helpful to have one litter box in the cage and a second one in a favorite room. Sometimes you can train them to go in the “spare bathroom” when they’re out.
