Yay!  I contacted Rumballs former family to see if they had any pictures of him when younger.  They do and will be sending them my way  Excitment!  Baby pictures!  Hope they come thru.  I surely will post them here when I get them.

I’ve been able track a little of his history – something I’ve been unable to do with Jersey.  It’s been interesting, skeletons in family closets, Grandmothers from questionable backgrounds etc.

Anyway – little Rumball picture to come….fingers crossed.

AWW! How fun, Im excited to see a little Rumball. I emailed the rescue where I got Rose from to see if they or her former fosters had any because I have very few and would love just a few more to remember her with. That was 2 weeks ago and havent gotten any response, so Im assuming thats a no they cant do that. *sigh*

Pepper was a rescue from a park so I don’t have any baby pics.

When I got her I did send a note to the ACC folks with a picture saying “thanks for what you do, and here’s one that’s going to be just fine”.

I also happened to run into her first foster-mom one morning at the vet’s office – she overheard me talking about names and recognized Pepper’s shelter name.  I’m glad she got a chance to meet me and to know how much her efforts are appreciated.

How fun – I bet he was a beautiful baby.

None of my current rabbits came to me as babies so I don’t have any baby pictures of them. Peppermint was very young but not a baby but I don’t have any younger pix of him. I know all my rabbits were beautiful babies though cause they are beautiful now.

How exciting! Can’t wait to see his baby bunny pics! — But, what skeletons?

I got Mops when he was 4 1/2 months from a Humane Society where he had been surrendered by his ‘breeders’  who decided, after

breeding, that they now had more bunnies than they could care for. I only have this photo of him from when he was 12 weeks:

Lint was from a breeder originally before someone found him as a stray. I found the owner, but they didn’t want him any more…

Deirdra… well, ya know it already! –having said all this: I also love the mystery of not ever knowing… the speculating….

The skeletons Well pretty common really – his father is also his grandfather. He was purchased from a breeder by his 1st family. I was able to speak to the breeder as I had Rumballs parents names. She was quite happy to wax on about her breeding pair. His mother was a silver 3/4 dwarf(mini) lop and apparently really small. His father was pedigree dwarf lop (ginger brown colour). I think some throw back genes gave Rumball his agouti coat. The breeder mentioned the mother did throw those from time to time – and how ugly they were when first born…hmph! I can’t quite remember but she said the maternal grandmother was “questionable breed” white I think. So her daughter Minnie (the silver) was bred with her father to sire Rumball & co. Weird having so much information.
