My mom brought me some pine cones from Florida.  She said she washed them off with water but is there anything special I need to do with them before I give them to Dexter?  I think I read somewhere that you should bake them first.  Anyone know?

The HRS website recommends dried out pine cones. I’m not sure how to go about that, though. Anyone else have experience with pine cones?

I do remember that you should bake them to make sure any nasties are dead, but I forget exactly how long or how hot.

(I’ll be perfoming at the Bristol Faire in Kenosha over Labor Day weekend – stop by!)

I found it somewhere before where you have to bake them, I should of bookmarked the website because I can’t find it now

I heard about the Bristol Faire, I always wanted to go to a Ren Faire and I just moved to Kenosha so it’s something on my list of things to do

I dry pine cones for my rabbits from our tree in the yard. I bake mine in the oven at 200 degrees for 1-2 hours depending on how big the pine cone is.
