Hi everyone! I guess this would be considered an introduction thread. I wasn’t really sure where to post that…It would be really awesome if there was a specific section for new member intros (if there is such a section and I just overlooked it I apologize)

I was recently introduced to the world of house rabbits by adopting a beautiful 4 year old female bunny from my local animal shelter. She is such a magnificant animal. I was not expecting such an interesting friend. I have not had a rabbit since I was a very young child and then I really didn’t understand them. I’ve realized now that they really aren’t a children’s pet.

She has an amazing personality. Within the first few days she was already coming to me when I entered the room, following me around, and binky-ing(sp?)

Unfortunately I adopted her while staying at my aunt’s house and the trip home was about an hour and a half. She had a few days at my aunts to adjust but when we finally went home the trip seemed to really traumatize her. At one point I was really afraid she wasn’t going to make it through the night. But all is well in bunnyland now! She is still not quite herself but she’s adjusting well and improving with every passing minute. I’m going to just leave her alone for a day or so so she can get used to her new surroundings.

Her name is Shadow and she’s already stolen my heart <3

                Thank you everyone!

And yes, I’m pretty sure she’s a rex. I’m not 100% sure…but she’s like the softest thing I’ve ever felt. Her fur is very thick and her whiskers are short and kinky. So she probably is

Probably she is! lol Even in the photo you posted, that was first thing I thought – Rex. She’s lovely, hope she comes good from the travelling soon. You are so right, they really are not a childrens pet. There’s so much subtleness to their personalities that really only adults and mature teens can appreciate. Welcome here!
