I have yet another vet problem. When I dropped Lucy off this morning to have her spay, the vet asked about her diet. So I went on to tell him she has pellets, her hays etc. and that she refuses veggies. And would he please take a good look at her teeth today while she is under to make sure her issue with veggies is not dental related. And then he scared me, he swears that veggies are not good for rabbits
. Only as a small treat every now and then, but agrees that fruits and carrots etc are treats as well and should be given sparingly. I was super confident with this vet, asked tons of questions and was impressed, this is my third vet and basically last opition so I really need this to work. So I need him to know that veggies ARE important, but he seems extremely knowledgable other then this. Like I said, I was super confident in this vet. I almost decided to walk out right then and there with Lucy, but reasoned that she needs to be spayed asap and this disagreement would not affect this surgery. So when I go to pick her up Im planning on confronting him with this again, though I may chicken out, he is a BIG guy lol. And seems to be a know it all and has a ego, so he may not be willing to listen to teeny tiny 18 year old me. If I do chicken out, I will at least email him. Does anyone have any links, resources etc. that prove and support that veggies are very importent in the diet? There are tons of sites that say feed veggies, but any that back up that statement would be awesome.
