Deirdra lives in her own condo right now and she has a tunnel in it so I couldn’t see her darting out as I dropped some clover on her greens tile… so the whole amount of clover ended up all over her face and head!!!! She was … surprised but proceeded to munch. Only, I feel so bad! –How do you say  “I’m sorry” to a bunny??

        I’m a klutz…

Hahaha! That’s great! My 5 year old is now “in charge of” feeding the pellets at about 8-8:30pm. Of course he does this with supervision and he knows how to use the measuring cup to get the correct amount. He scoops the pellets into a kid’s restaurant cup and takes it over to the pen. Since the buns are so excited for their evening meal, I have taught him to lower the cup first, let each bun take out one pellet and while they munch that, he can pour the remaining pellets into their food dish. Well, a few times, Meadow has gotten so excited, she puts her head in the dish before he’s done pouring, and she gets a bunch of pellets ON her head. She doesn’t even shake them off, just continues to eat.

Freya also is in the habit of getting pellets on her head. She’s quite in the habit of eating all of her pellets as soon as I put her to bed, no matter how much she has. She promptly tips her bowl over and starts playing with it. Of course, all I hear is “I’m hungry mummy and you didn’t feed me enough” so I go right back with more food for her. She just won’t take her face out of her dish. Sometimes she’ll even get up and put her paws on the side of the cup and tip a few out. I think she’s far too interested in her food to care how it gets to her, as long as she can eat.

Pippi is the consummate messy eater. Every time I am loading the hay into her pen for evening feeding, she is shoving her head at me and usually winds up with quite a thorny crown of seedheads. >.< I just worry any will get in her eyes and irritate them.
Of course, do NOT say the word “cookie” in front of any of them. You will realize what former President Carter saw when he was boating on the lake in his home state and the “rabid rabbit” came swimming at him with teeth bared and that glazed ‘March Hare’ look in it’s eyes!

Is anyone besides me old enough to remember that story from the 70’s? No? I thought not…

a haha. boba, the little one of my two buns is the most uncoordinated rabbit ever. whenever she hears the word “treat,” she gets so excited that she stands up trying to reach my hands and ends up falling on her back. and… when pellets drop on her head, they disappear somewhere into her world of fuzz fur. that is, until odang finds them and eats them off her head.

Holy freaking cow is that strange. A little perturbing. Wow I just did a search… I can’t believe they exist. That’s CRAZY. PS. Don’t do a search. Yuckies come up.

So… can you teach rabbits to swim, then? My dog would love to have a friend in the pool… we never go in and she gets lonely.

Freshman year at my college they did a play called “Do you like large fluffy bunny rabbits?”
This was the picture they used (though you could see the easter decorations in the noncropped version… right now it’s a wolf or something… but if you add easter stuff it’s a bunny)
