  There is a bunny on craigslist that needs a home. They where talking about taking him to a park and letting him go.
  
  I can’t stand the thought, so I called him and bun hasn’t been fixed.
  
  I just don’t know if I want 5 again, especially since it’s going to take awhile to bond Mufasa and Lily.

  Can you post a link Deb’sBuns? Isn’t it illegal to dump animals like that? Perhaps that could be mentioned to them since they’re advertising the fact.

  Not only is it illegal to set a domestic animal free, but it’s immoral. It’s called abandonment, and it makes me so angry when people even consider doing this to any animal. I once drove 3 hours south of my home (one way) to pick up a dog that this person was going to toss out their front door.
  
  If the bun’s close enough I’ll come get him, but that’s a slim chance. These people should be reported… *grumbles about it some more*

  He’s in Canoga Park. He said he would deliver him to me in Chatsworth. Hopefully he can do it on Tuesday.
  
  I’m hoping he only mentioned letting him go to get a response.
  
  I told him I would think about it and call him back.

  It looks like a baby bun but he’s says 2yr old. Maybe a Netherland Dwarf X Harlequin?
  
  Does sound like he wouldn’t dump it but you never do know. I’m just being hopeful…

  Is there a local HRS you can give the bunny to?
  
  I know that with my local HRS if I have found a bunny they would take it. Also what about the Humane Society? They typically charge but if you tell them this guy was threatening to drop it off they should take it for free..

  I talked to the guy again and told him he can’t let him go in a park, he said it would be a last resort. I told him about the shelter and where it was, and I told him I needed him fixed. The cheapest way would be for him to take him there and I could then get him out. I just can’t afford $200.00 right now. Hopefully he understood. I gave him my work phone # and told him to call me.

  Vent question: Why wouldn’t his last resort be giving him to a shelter in the first place? GRRR.

  There are also night drop boxes for many shelters where the guy could have dropped them off for free and remained anonymous. There is always a tech at night in these places to transfer animals from the boxes to the cages. Of course it’s not as nice as someone’s home, but they at least have a warm safe place with food and water . It amazes me when people think setting their animals free is the better option. I would also let the Humane Society know about his craigslist post, but right now if your goal is to just get the bunnies to safety, you may be able to work out a deal with the humane society to get them from him and then get them to safety with the humane society.

  Well, so far bunny is not at the shelter. So hopefully he got a home. The guy said he would call me if he took him there.

  Haven’t heard from him still. There’s a mini rex at the shelter I was thinking of getting. He would make me a good birthday present.
