My bunnies have grabbed and pulled the grids but never outright chewed on them for something to chew on.  They were telling me ‘Let me out NOW.”

Can you redirect his chewing towards something else- cardboard box, hay in a brown paper bag, apple twigs.  My bunnies LOVE the fruity balsa chew toys from the Binky Bunny store- but they don’t last a long time once they are fully engaged in chewing.  But that is the point really- since if they couldn’t chew them they would stop.

I know Target has chrome cubes that are still approp sized grids- but they are more expensive.  I bought a box about 2 months or so ago.  But if he is such a persistant chewer I would think the chrome coating would still be able to be destroyed.  So really I guess I would try to redirect the chewing.  Zip tie a peice cardboard there instead and see if that gets him chewing on that instead.

Any idea why the chewing?  wants out? wants something else?

I bought the chrome cubes for my nic condo. Target has them for $16.99 a box. (23 come in a box I think)

You can also get those hanging chew toys where you can unscrew the top and put on any kind of chew item that has a hole in it. Hang it next to the place he chews the most.

That said, I have a cage that has been chewed on for a long time, and the white coating is off in places.  Usually, with enough hay and chew toys handy to redirect, it’s their way of calling you because they want somethng; like out, food, cleaner litter, a new Netflix movie…

My foster rabbit used to always chew on his cage. When he was out he would hop back in to chew on it (and he had plenty to do!). I put vinegar on the bars which deterred him a little bit but he just really liked chewing on the cage. Kind of a pain when I was trying to sleep.
