Got my lovely 8 week old baby boy yesterday and hes gorgeous! My first rabbit!

Left him in his cage for most of yesterday to let him get adjusted, but when i did let him out briefly he was hyper and jumping around all over the place

Now when he poops in his cage (as there is rather alot of it) should i move it to his litter tray or pick it up and throw it away?

Also with feeding should i leave a bowl of food in his cage all day?? Or just feed him at certain times?

Welcome, sounds like your enjoying the new bunny! At the top of the page is a green bar with a heading BUNNY INFO. There’s lots of info there to get you started.

You might as well start putting some of the droppings in the litter box so he gets the idea. If there’s alot, clean up, toss out most and put a sprinkling in his box.

Baby bunnys should have unlimited amount of pellets, so best leave a bowl in there and top it up. And hay too, good to start them on hay as it’s life long food in their diet.

            WELCOME adwam!

Congrats on your new bunny!  Before you know it you will be a bunnyslave if you aren’t already.

Regarding feeding – like Jersey girl said, at this age – unlimited pellets.

Here is a link to the House Rabbit Society’s guidelines for young bunnies http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/diet.html#babies

I can’t wait to see pictures of your new bunny!

Baby REW! He’s cute! His hocks look quite big already. Good he’s eating and pooping well. That’s want you want to see. I think babies have a fast metabolism too.

Edit: or is he blue eyed? A REW or a BEW

I give my baby bun 1/4 cup of pellets in the morning, 1/4 cup when I get home from work (he’s finished his breakfast by this point), and I’ll give him another 1/8 cup or so at bedtime if he’s mostly done with his dinner. I like to do it this way so I can make sure he’s eating normally. If I just kept his bowl full, it would be harder to tell how much he was eating, but it’s still unlimited food because his bowl is never empty for more than an hour or two.
