I am still floored from what happened last night!

I was sitting on the recliner watching tv after putting some pellets in Parsnip’s treat ball.  She was really excited about that and was moving it all around her cage and banging it against her glass bowl making some noise.  Archie and Gracie ran over to the baby gate because they heard her.  Archie looked at me and I called him over (he comes when you say his name now!!) and he jumped on my lap for a few pets before jumping down.  I could see Gracie staring through the gate.  She always does that, I think she’s a bit jealous of Parsnip or something.  Parsnip isn’t spayed yet either so she might not like her scent that much (explains why she’s STILL going to the bathroom in the living room ….but not as bad).  I continue to watch tv and all of the sudden I hear this scrapping of nails against plastic and I no longer see Gracie.  I run over there and Gracie’s on the other side of the gate!!!  Gracie; the big mini lop that lounges around, only binkys a few inches in the air, keeps to herself…yup, that Gracie!  I did recently catch her on the couch the other day which surprised the heck out of me.  She doesn’t jump all that often, especially that high.  I hop over the gate and grab her before she can do any harm or go under the bed.  Parsnip got scared and ran under her ramp.  Gracie pooped once and I picked her up and I heard what sounded like her peeing….I put her back on the other side and tell her “no!”.  I go back to check where she peed….could not find it.  I go back to the recliner and feel something wet….she peed on my shirt when I picked her up!!

Hopefully she won’t make a habit of trying to jump the gate.

She just wanted to be with you, so much that she marked you as hers. I’ve been considering baby gates but I’m not sure that the standard ones will be enough. Freya jumps up on top of a box that’s 19″ high all the time. I guess you’ll have to watch her a bit more closely, she might be a closet daredevil and decide jumping over high things is her new favorite activity when you aren’t looking.

She didn’t want to miss out! Never underestimate them huh! I didn’t think Rumball could jump up to Jerseys overnight sleeping spot, but sure enough he can!

you see… she just needs the right motivation to jump high! like the soft couch or to check out the new chick whos competition for treats.

Parsnip must be taking tips because the other day I went to feed Parsnip her pellets in the morning and either she was really excited to see me or see the pellets because she went up by her bed and jumped OUT of her cage and into my arms!!!  Her cage is 2 grids high and I was only crotching just a bit and I’m 5’3″!!!    She was like a little monkey climbing all over me.  I got to the ground in time for her to jump off of me because she was on my shoulders and when I kneeled down she hoped on my back and to the ground.    What a goof!  Hopefully she won’t try to break out of her cage and jump the gate to visit Archie and Gracie.
