I weighed Stormy last night, I found his back felt a bit thin and he lost 2 oz since I last recorded his weight in February. He’s pretty much eating the same and acting the same.  My bf keeps saying “He only lost 2oz , that’s nothing” but when you weigh 3 lbs, an ounce is quite a bit. I’m trying not to worry but he’s been the same weight for a really long time and now a change.

I’m gonna have to monitor his weight weekly and if he drops anymore I will have to bring him for a checkup.

I do hope he’s okay!  Monitoring his weight weekly sounds like a good idea.  And of course checking food intake.  I know how unnerving it can be when you notice your bun seems to be skinnier all of a sudden!

Thats a good idea to keep monitoring him closely. Maybe you could give him a few pieces of alfalfa or some alfalfa pellets to help him put a little bit more weight back on? I agree that if the weight loss continues you should take him to the vet. If he is still eating and pooping normally though, that is a very good sign.

              How old is Stormy now?
When Spockie was a couple of years old, he once went from 6 lbs. to 5.5 and I was concerned. I asked the vet, and she said he was just a “lean mean bunny machine.” She said if he continued to lose more to bring him back, but he was in his prime and exercising well so he wasn’t at all fat. He managed to get up to 8 lbs. in the next few years, before he settled around 6.5.

              I agree with Moo’s advice.
