Since it is not a fresh wound you should not need to rinse it or flush it- you can put a tiny bit of Neosporin (without the added pain relief ingredient)- that will help it to heal and it seems to help when there are scabs on the ears so they do not flake off as easily since you want the scabs to remain on the ear as long as everything is healing well. My bunnies have had minor scratches on the ears from bonding scuffles- and the neosporin every other day or every day seems to help it heal. Just feel the ear where the ouchie is- it will feel a little thicker where it is healing and sometimes for awhile after that- or longer if it scars- but just make sure it does not seem overly painful or as if there is a pocket of fluid.
I also noticed that the area around the scab on the ears seems to get dry- but the longer the scab stays on the quicker it heals completely and the less chance or smaller scar they should have.
