As most of you know Oreo was a simi-rescued rabbit. He was fed nothing but pellet…no hay, no veggies, or leafy greens….and the pellet she was using has dried fruits, and veggies in it…very bad for buns!!!! (stupid woman! &#160 Anyway…today I was cutting up some green pepper, and thought…”hey, i saw that these were actually good for rabbits” So I thought I see if he wanted one… since he was at my feet stretching to see what I was doing anyway…. So I put one down and he sniffed and in went right to his pen…looking at me like…  ….”yeah…I don’t think so woman!!!!” Oreo never turns down veggies…at least not carrots, spinach, parsley, and lettuce…NEVER!!! I was SOOOOOO shocked!!!! Anyone else’s buns not like peppers?

I’ve actually been waiting for the day when he did…I really want to put variety in his diet, but he seems to be stuck on certain things..  Any suggestions?

Don’t feel bad, none of my buns like peppers, green or otherwise! They just sniff at it and walk away.

I’ve never given peppers to my rabbits but I know of many rabbits who love them.

The best thing to do is keep offering them the new veggie – sometimes they are just suspicious of new things, kind of like little kids.

Pacey despises any pepper of any color he will actually take it out of his veggie plate and lay it on the floor while he eats the rest of the veggies lol. Marshmallow would probably eat it since she will eat anything apparently.

Neither of my bunnies will eat peppers of any color.  Cotton can be picky- but Schroeder is a salad eating machine- and he would not eat a piece either.

Well I’m glad to know he’s not the only one who doesn’t like them… Or at least I thought he didn’t, I remember I put it in his bowl (not sure why?!… Not thinking I guess) and this morning it was gone… I’m not sure if it was out of desperation, or he decided he liked it. The reason I say desperation is because his bowl was completely empty this morning, usually he at least has pellets left, but not today….completely empty…and of course flipped over! LOL  I always hear him about 7AM flipping his bowl all over, I believe thats his way of telling me its time to get up and feed him!  oh well! <–slightly off subject.

I don’t think I’ve offered them peppers. I know many buns don’t like them, so I never really tried. Honestly, I am not really a big fan of peppers either, so it’s rare we have them in the house.

this isn’t about peppers, but i’m just now starting my babies on fresh veggies, and odang absolutely fell in love with cilantro. boba, however, who is usually the one who never stops devouring, turned out to be the picky one. she turned away and gave me the tail! well, i just kept trying since i was feeding odang anyway, and a couple of days later, she took one bite. that’s it. the following day, she ate one. now, she prefers cilantro over her pellets and hay.

Freya never gives me probmes with eating her veggies. She did turn her nose up at brussel sprouts though and also won’t eat peppers. Last night she was fighting like the devil to get into my late night snack of cantaloupe and cottage cheese, so I gave her a little piece of fruit. She wouldn’t touch it even though she almost dumped my bowl on me trying to get into it. Other than that she’s eaten everything I’ve given her, lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, parsley.

I kinda give the buns the same veggies the  guineas eat. So, they don’t get brussel sprouts, cabbage, or broccoli. Is it really necessary? Years ago I used to give it to them, but I heard it caused gas so I stopped.
