Hello fellow bunny lovers, about 5 minutes ago Nibbles snuck 1/4 of an orange peel off the top of a box while I was chasing Zowie.

Will she be ok?  Some of the google searches said that it’s not, some said it is….one said her bunny started foaming at the mouth and then exploded…yah right, but still! I’m worried for my nibblebaby.

Will she be ok?  I’m giving her tons of hay and water.

uggg I turn away for 2 seconds!!

I’ve not come across Orange peel on the Toxic lists before. For example, things like apple seed are usually listed so if O peel was a problem I would think it’d be listed also. Keep a close eye on Nibbles, if she continues to eat hay etc I think she’s probably ok. If you’re really concerned, it couldn’t hurt to ring and ask your vets office anyway.

She seems to be fine.  She’s eating, pooping, drinking, playing.  Man I was worried!  I had to chase her all around to get the peel away from her last night.  Which suprised me because she’s usually the snack snob!

Ah but the difference was she aquired this one herself! Great she’s ok. I’m still unsure about the Orange peel. I had thought someone mentioned feeding their bun orange and peel once but can’t remember. Anyway, best they avoid citrus I think. I would think it was bitter. Wonder what attracted her to it?

mine like the actual orange so I give them a piece now n then… I doubt orange peel would hurt them tho… since orange is ok…

but then again someone mentioned apple seeds I or something being toxic… I didn’t knwo that and I used to feed the left over apple to them but not anymore since I found about the seeds….

*sigh* It was bad enough when my kids were little and you couldn’t turn your back for a second because they were always sticking something inedible in their mouths…but with the bunnies, I think it’s ten times worse! >.<
Good to hear your bun is okay. I have to watch Mimzy REALLY carefully, because he tends to grab my earphones and chew through the cord before I can catch a breath. I go through more of those things than I can shake an IPOD at.
Pip is partial to books. Don’t leave any paper near HER (NOMNOMNOM)!
Fiver will just snuffle up anything that smells good and before you can say jackrabbit, he’s swallowed it. >.< I swear, I've aged ten years just trying to get whatever it is away from him! ~_~
