Suprisingly, I’ve only gotten 1 comment so far. “You must put cilantro on EVERYTHING” haha!

People always ask me what stuff is at the checkout so they know how to ring it up. I get the most weird looks for dandelion greens and kale. I explain that both can be cooked and eaten… but they’re for my bun and g-pig. Hehehe.

I tend to do the self-checkout thing, but a couple weeks ago the scale was having issues so the lady had to keep coming over to help. After about ther fifth time, she looked at the remaining items in the cart and exclaimed, “You people eat like rabbits!!!” My reply, “No, the rabbits obviosly eat better than I do!!!”

Yes and most people are interested including the checkers when I tell them it’s for my rabbits. They really like it.

The people at my grocery just think I’m supper healthy. Especially since I buy hardly no packaged or processed food.

Naz – smell like coriander? ha, ha, ha!

We rarely get a comment- but we do get weird looks and the cashier sometimes asks “what is this?”

I wonder if anyone other than rabbits end up eating this stuff???  My local Meijer has a good selection of stuff- but who would ever eat some of this stuff on a regular basis (other than pets)?  Keep in mind I live in the northern part of the US- but mustard greens, turnip greens, collard greens, kale, oriental kale?  I can’t picture most people up here eating that on a regular basis.  And does anyone other than pets eat the dandelion leaves?  And Kohlrabi- what the heck does that taste like and how do you eat it?  I haven’t bought that for the bunnies yet even though it is on the approved list.  It looks so weird compared to greens or herbs.

It’s harder when they don’t know what it is, and you don’t either! I’ve done this with chicory before. I knew it was in the endive section and ok for rabbits but I didn’t actually know what it was. Now I think the my green grocers know I’m buying for the furries because I always ask for the carrot tops they have under the counter.
