Hello! There’s plenty of information on the site that you can look at but here is a link to what you can feed your baby bunny http://rabbit.org/faq/sections/diet.html#babies. If you post some pictures some people here can probably tell you what breed your bunny is. A vet might be able to help you with the gender of the rabbit. There is also a toys section on the forum that you should check out . Good luck with your new bunny!

             Hi! and Welcome to BinkyBunny.com!

With feeding I highly recommend reading this: http://rabbit.org/faq/sections/diet.html#babies

There’s also more diet information under Bunny Info here on BB.com

Gender is tough with buns…I would certainly have your vet take a look when you take your baby in for a check up!

Its hard to tell, but I would say your bun looks like a jersey wooly mix maybe?!? if you could post a better pic on here, I’m sure some of these wonderful bunny folks could tell you.

As far as mating is concerned, brushing on a regular basis would be your best bet to keep him mat free!

Hope some of this helps! Congrats on your new bunny!!! Just know they can be addicting! LOL

As far as the toy part of your question – my bunny’s favorite toys are cardboard boxes! I usually turn them upside down and cut holes in them for the bunnies to hop in and out. They really love to chew on the cardboard and “redecorate” and they also like to lounge underneath them. In addition, cardboard toilet paper or paper towel tubes stuffed with hay make a very good toy.

Definitely read the information on this site, and the other sites recommended about diet – diet is very important for bunnies.

Can I ask where you got TJ? 5 weeks is awfully, awfully young! Also at this age, it would be difficult to tell his sex accurately. It is best a vet do that. As to your other qu’s, the others have provided some great pointers.
Welcome and congratulations on the new furbaby!

                  Hi Sharon, –welcome!

It’s hard to say what breed your new furbaby is, more photos please!
It’s possible that T.J. is part Jersey Wooly, however, they are small and you said s/he is quite large, and there are a lot of angora mix rabbits in B.C. — having said that assume he’s a mutt, and as that the hair will get matted superfast! Use a soft brush on him, spray it with water first to prevent static and brush him every single day so he gets used to the routine as well as gows his hair back without matting. It will also prevent hair balls which can cause intestinal blockage.
                  — how is T.J. settling in?
