My bunny is only about 2 1/2 months old, and she pees mainly in her cage now. Only thing is, she absolutely refuses to pee in the litterbox in her cage. She will lay and sleep in it, so it’s not a matter of her not agreeing with the litter, she loves it. I put it in the corner where she used to pee, then she chose another corner. So i moved it there, and now she pees in yet another corner.. I’ve tried putting poop and urine-soaked bedding in there to give her the hint, but she still wont go. Im glad she only pees in her cage, but how can I get her to use her box?

All advice would be much appreciated, this is my first bunny!

Hmm this is a toughy. I’m not sure if it applies to females (if it helps with litterbox habits), but is she spayed? Someone correct me if I’m wrong! Something you can try is put something in every corner of the cage. Food dish in one, water bottle/bowl in the other, bed/staionary toy/hay rack, and litterbox! If that doesn’t work you can try putting a litterbox in 2 or more corners until she learns to got in one then remove the other after she has consistently been going in that litterbox for a few weeks.

Anyways welcome to BB and congrats on the new bunny!

Haha! Yes then the peeing everywhere could mean “she” is a “he”! Males tend to do that due to hormones. And he’s just at the right age. This is only the beginning, lol! Well I’m glad you’ve already decided to get her/him spayed/neutered!

What type of cage flooring do you have? Do you put anything down on the flooring also? This can actually hinder litter training.
