  Mum makes her coffee in a pot on the stove. She strained herself a cup. Then another cup putting the pot back on the stove with the burner on. Forgot to turn it off.
  
  Good thing the windows were open. Mum and Da left for lunch. ON their way back they heard the fire alarm. I heard Mum asking if it was our place. She ran up the stairs smelling smoke and sure enuf was us.
  
  Mum ran up the stairs took the pot off the stove the burner sticking to it. Turned on the fan and got the smoke smell out.
  
  I am glad Mum came home when she did. Phew. I was in my cage with my eyes big all hunched up scared. Mum talked to me petted me and I calmed down. Now Mum is extra careful with the stove. Almost obsessive about checking it.

  Yes even in the bathroom I could smell it. Phew. Mum ran in the bathroom and saw a funny look on my face. Ears up and just sittin there. I was glad Mum came to reassure me. And get the smell out.

  Oh my Cotton & Ruby! Mom gave you quite a scare!! So glad that you both are okay and that Mom was able to help comfort you after such a scare! Whew!

  Hogeeze, that is something that terrifies me…the idea of a fire in my home-whether I am there or not! ;_; Thank God everything turned out okay!
