So we did go to the vet today. Bleh.

India was doing the head/ear shaking and head/ear scratching a LOT, her skin was really pink. So immediatly thought ear infection or something.

Everything checks out normal. So we’re wondering if she either has allergies to something or I’m wonding if since its shedding season she is just extra sensative there? We’re starting a low dose antihistimine tonight to see if that helps. Anyone else?

Hopefully I’ll post pics in the lounge tonight, compare her when we got her to now and see if anyone can tell what breed she is… shes 3 lbs now! Double what she was a month ago!

Is she sneezing? What are the meds for exactly? If her ears are clear and she has no other signs, I’m not clear on what the prescription is for…

I’ve never heard of buns getting sensitive ears from shedding or from allergies, but I am no expert… I’ve heard and seen sensitive noses b/c the loose fur tickles their nose and makes them sneeze…

When you say her skin was really pink, are you referring to the skin inside her ear? Did you compare between the two ears to see if one looked irritated compared to the other?

Sometimes after a long petting session my bunnies will shake their ears and itch a lot as if I messed up all their fur by giving them the pets that they were demanding Is it still happening quite a bit? It isn’t abnormal for a bunny to shake their head and itch from time to time, but if it is pretty constant all day long, then you may want to consider getting a second opinion.

Did they check for mites? I am assuming so as that would be rather a common thing, but I’m just double-checking what they checked.

                No sneezing.
The skin behind her ears was super pink from the scratching. the Diphenhydramine to be exact seems to be helping (its like Benadryl for bunnies), a lot less irritated looking. Still scratching some, but no head shaking.
The vet looked in her ears and let me look too, theres nothing to see there. Clear as day.
We’re brushing her once or twice a day now because shes driving me nuts with the shedding.
We’re not friends right now because Im doing all the discipline and administering of meds. Dad just comes home and plays >:o
