I’m pretty sure this is her:

        http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=13500784

Im upset because they didn’t listen to anything I said.  It looks like they moved her from McKinney to the Dallas SPCA.  Not a big deal, I guess.  But her name is still “Wills Point #87” which is her old adoption papers when I adopted her.  I told them her name is Hailey and told them to change it.  So I was upset to see she is still a number.

Then it says she would prefer to be with other bunnies…WTF?!  I told them the situation we had with her and Bailey.

I’m really hoping that this is just something they copy and paste onto all rabbit pages, and hopefully her actual adoption papers say differently and she has a name.  Ugh, I shouldn’t have ever looked.  I was just hoping I  couldn’t find her so I would think she found a home.  And I bursted into tears when I found her and saw her photo.

As far as Bailey goes, things for her are so much better.  I’ve never seen such a huge personality from her until after Hailey left.  She runs all over the house doing binkies, racing in circles around the coffee table as fast as she can.  She chases the cat’s tail, and plays with tons of toys (she never played with toys when Hailey was here).  I can’t believe the difference in her.

Awww, I’m sorry. I know from my rescue experience that if the original paperwork was all done in one name (or number in this case) and an animal was returned he or she gets re-listed with that same number. If you filled out some surrender forms they most likely followed her to her new location and her new family should get a copy.

I have a feeling that this is done by volunteers. Unfortunately too since SPCA is a large organization and has many shelters sometimes information doesn’t get passed on and I do think this is just standard info that they post on the website. Please don’t feel bad either – it takes time to find the right home and it hasn’t been that long really. She’s in good hands at the shelter too.

I’m glad Bailey is doing well and hugs to you.

I’m pretty sure on the SPCA website and at the shelter they have her listed as Hailey too – they just couldn’t fit everything on the name slot on Petfinders – it’s just a limitation of Petfinders.

                I bet it’s a mistake-you might email them?

Why does it say adopt a dutch at the top? Is that just in my browser? She’s sooo not a dutch…My pet peeve when they have obvious breeds of rabbits mislabeled!

That’s SPCA – they always list their rabbits as Dutch or Angora or something – they do mainly cats and dogs. I’m not sure if emailing them is going to get you anywhere though since the person who answers the email is probably just going to be confused.

when i adopted them, it said Rex on her papers, so I’m also confused why it now says she’s a dutch.
And I have should have gave them some great pics of her that showed her personality better.

When I returned Hailey, I also gave them her favorite toy.  This toy she would play with for hours in her cage.  She absolutely loved it and I wanted her to have it.  They promised they would hang it up in her cage for her to play with.  I seriously doubt she has it now.  Looking at the photo, It looks like she’s in one of those glass box cages, so there is no where to hang up her toy.  I really wanted her to have it.

I just shouldn’t have looked. Curiosity got the best of me.

I’m so sorry Sharper. I know how you feel. I’ve bought toys for some rescue animals and I’ve been sad when they’ve been left behind. :0( You just have to have faith that she will find a family that will buy her all the cool toys she could ever want.

I’m sorry this happened to you. That description def sounds like the same one they use for all the rabbits. Honestly, I would call and ask why the information isn’t correct on her. I would also ask if she has her special toy that you gave her. I totally would and I don’t think they would be annoyed with you.

I kept thinking of going up there and checking to see if she’s okay and if she has her toy and then talk to someone there.  But then I thought I would break down if I saw her and it would be too hard.  But maybe calling would be a better way of doing it.

and if not, maybe I can buy her a new toy if they would let her have it

It might be hard for her too. She wouldn’t understand why you were there and not taking her back home. :0(

It does read like a generalised ad for the most part but I would have thought specifics would aid in her adoption better. Perhaps it was the intial ad they put up to get her “out there” and they have plans to edit? I’m glad you looked and are looking out for her. Email and see what you can do. Especially regarding the single rabbit/paired rabbit issue. She should not go out to be put with another rabbit only to have to be returned again. The false info you were given when you took her resulted in her current situation. (No fault on your part whatsoever!)
I am sorry it has caused you some upset but I am glad you are looking – you are her guardian so to speak.

I really hope she finds a good home. At this point it’s out of your hands and we just have to all think good thoughts that the right family finds her.

I am so sorry how heartbreaking.    Yes the humane society does make mistakes.   I hate to say it but they do.

Honey Bun was not a neutered boy at all but an unspayed female.  Her pic was on the bio paper but was not the right info.  Also HB was probably not her name after all. That would explain why she never answered to it.  Had me thinking she was somewhat deaf.

the lady that took her was way surprised at finding out he was a she.  So was I.

I would definitely call and email about it.

You’ve done your best for her, and now you have to trust that they can find her a new home.

I’l so happy to hear that Bailey is doing so much better.
