My birth mum, who lives in California and doesn’t have too much contact with me, has a little old buff cocker spaniel who is probably in his last illness. She is going to be devastated when he goes. He has congestive heart disease and the vet has told her he’s probably jsut going to go to sleep and not wake up some day soon.

Could I ask you all to keep both her and her dog in your prayers? We often joke that Max is my “furry little brother”. I hurt for her because I have come so close recently to losing my own beloved dog…I don’t know what she is going to do when her dog is gone, she is very attached to him and lives alone but for him.

I’ll be praying for a peaceful passing for her dog, and comfort for her when he goes. I know how painful it is to lose such a close companion.

MM, I so feel it. This incredible sadness and nothing-you-can -do sense of a beloved dog dying. April tenth this week marks the two-year anniversary of the death of my most cherished pet ever. My dog, Lonnie, an American Staffordshire – Greyhound mix passed away in my arms from pharyngeal paralysis that day. I thought I would get over it but I haven’t. So my prayers will be with your birth mum’s dog.
