I’m taking Remy in to get fixed today and I’m so nervous! What if he gets mad at me and never forgives me? What if they do a bad job? What if he quits eating after the operation?
Happy thoughts required please…….. ![]()

Happy Thoughts:
1. No matter how slow they come out of it, the first thing they think about is eating.
2. No matter how little appetite they have for a day or so, the second thing they think about is eating.
3. No slave goes unforgiven with a treat in her hand.
4. After 48 hours the thing they want most is their slave with a treat in her hand.
5. Stitches = bragging rights, so remove all platforms and temptations to jump, as they will jump up to show you their new scar.
6. Bunnies do not dwell on the past. Memories are successfully obliterated by large quantities of treats.
7. Hugs heal. Some for you, some for Remy. ![]()
I can only sympathise with you, I had Rosie spayed in October and I felt awful being the one to inflict the misery on her. If it helps it all turned out great, but only after I went in to complete panic mode and kept harassing the vets with phone calls seeing if her behaviour when we got her home was normal. I think I was more traumatised than her. (Also thought I might have to change vets as they might think I was unhinged!!)
I was practically whimpering when the vet tech took him to the back.
He will have a comfortable place to recover, though. I bought him a giant exercise pen and put an old comforter in it with some fleecy blankets on top. When I set it up yesterday, he went straight in and stayed there practically all night. He loves to be on soft places! I’m sure he won’t want to be penned up for a few days, but at least he’ll be comfortable.

He’s just so darn cute. Keep us updated when you get the little darling back.
He’ll do great! Keep us posted!

He looks so soft. My what big feet we have there on one of your bottom pics.
As bunny parents we are definitely worry warts. As dang who was it… guy who wrote Tom Sawyer would say….
All the things I worried about and none have come to pass…. What a waste. lol…
HE will pull though just fine. All will be forgiven…
Wow, Remy does an EXCELLENT flop!
Pam gave you great advice…I think we all go through the nervous-wreck stage, so don’t feel bad at all!
I’m sure you’ll both pull through fine!
haha! I never looked at it that way before, but the angle does make him look like has big feeties!
I just called the vet to check him. They said he was groggy but okay. Phew! They told me this morning that I could call as many times as I wanted, and I’m pretty proud of myself for only calling once. Hurray for self control!
He does flop very expertly ![]()

Man does that bunny flop cute!!! I LOVE that squished up flop-darling!
If he’s standing up and I pet his back, he squishes down against the couch as if he’s trying to be as flat as possible. He becomes an adorable squishy furry bunny puddle!
He’s back!
He was groggy for a while, but I have him in his exercise pen with tons of soft, squishy blankets and he’s starting to act more like himself. He doesn’t seem angry at me at all! I’ve been in the pen with him for a while, and he even flopped (extremely gently) while I was kissing his head.
I think he’ll be just fine very soon. I’m feeling so much better (hopefully he will be soon!)!
Yay! And even a bunny flop after a vet visit? That is unheard of
I’m so glad to hear he is doing well. Starting tomorrow, check on his neutering incisions to make sure they look like they are healing OK, and you should see the swelling in that area gradually going down over the next few days.
Give Remy a pet for me – he looks soooo super soft I wish I could pet him myself!
I will be keeping a very careful eye on my baby, don’t you worry! He’s such a good-natured little man. He’s been stretched out in his pen. All in all, I think he’s feeling okay, if a little delicate.
Thank you all for the happy vibes! I really needed them, and they helped a lot ![]()
looove the tuck’n’flop
glad to hear all went well. i certainly remember how nerve wracking it was waiting to hear from the vet office. (((healing vibes)))
Oh good news. He is a darling! I’m sure he wouldn’t be “angry” at you. Just very happy to be home in a secure environment.
What’s the earliest I can let him out of his pen? He’s started hopping back and forth and gnawing on the bars. I went in there with him this morning and he jumped on and off of me and licked my feet and had the zooms. He wants OUT ![]()
Yea, he is home and doing fine!
I don’t know when it is okay to let him out – but, be careful he does not rip his stitches!
