  So, what’s up with the inequality of the sexes nipping? Mike’s been nipped by Quantum a couple of dozen times; never really really hard, but a definite nip, mainly toes and ankles. She’s only done it to me once–the other day she was in an extremely cranky mood for who-knows-what-reason-but-her-Majesty-was-just-not-pleased. I reached in to remove her water dish and she just *barely* grazed my hand. I didn’t jerk back or anything, so if she wanted to, she could’ve given me a serious nip, but she didn’t. Am I Alpha Bunny or She-Who-Bringeth-the-Food-and-Therefore-Not-To-Be-Messed-With or what??!? I also get my arms “washed” on a daily basis, where I think she’s licked Mike maybe twice….what goes on in the mind of Buns?

  I’m not sure. It may be that you’re the one who is around more and she knows not to mess with you. It depends where Mike is when he gets nipped. If he is like my Mike, it is likely he is horizontal on the couch, and if she is trying to hop around up there, he may be in her way. A nip can say, “Dude! Move it or lose it!” I’ve been nipped thru my socks before, some buns don’t always realize that the sock is attached to the person.

  Not inequality of the sexes, more like inequality of care and projected feelings.
  Buttercup loves me and likes everyone else.
