I’ve been thinking about this… We have had a few members in the past with flemish giants as house rabbits, but they seem to disappear rather quickly. They’ll post off and on, but not regularly. I know SkunkLionShow and others (myself included) have expressed desire at someday having a giant. Maybe it’s like the “holy grail” of bunnies? I look at my little cows (5 and 3.75 pounds respectively) and I cannot imagine the amount of pellets, hay, veggies and litter a Giant would go thru. I know you will probably be feeding and littering everyone out of a communal pot, but if possible, would there be a way for you to figure out what the Flemmie alone goes thru? Also, what the flemmie goes thru at different ages (8 weeks, 6 months, 1 year?) I am curious if he will go thru the same amounts proportionately to a smaller bunny, or if his larger size will increase his appetite exponentially? Of course, food intake and “outtake” can vary by the individual bunny, I am just looking for some hard facts regarding this. It would be interesting to hear from someone who is experiencing it.
I know I keep track of the date I start using pellets, hay, and litter. I like to know exactly how long my supplies last, and I like to average out my costs at the end of the year. It’s just a dorky thing I like to do.
