I really thought I wouldn’t have been surprised if you got the white and the blue! Will this be the first baby rabbit you’ve had before?

Congratulations! Your baby is a beauty. I didn’t know F. Giants could be REWs. For some reason the ones I’ve seen were all tan in their coloring.
                What’s the baby’s name?

Aww thanks guys! this won’t be my first baby. I got Napoleon as a 7 week old (I think he was older though, more like 10 weeks, his owner wasn’t very sure how old he was… ).

I’ve been thinking about this… We have had a few members in the past with flemish giants as house rabbits, but they seem to disappear rather quickly. They’ll post off and on, but not regularly. I know SkunkLionShow and others (myself included) have expressed desire at someday having a giant. Maybe it’s like the “holy grail” of bunnies? I look at my little cows (5 and 3.75 pounds respectively) and I cannot imagine the amount of pellets, hay, veggies and litter a Giant would go thru. I know you will probably be feeding and littering everyone out of a communal pot, but if possible, would there be a way for you to figure out what the Flemmie alone goes thru? Also, what the flemmie goes thru at different ages (8 weeks, 6 months, 1 year?) I am curious if he will go thru the same amounts proportionately to a smaller bunny, or if his larger size will increase his appetite exponentially? Of course, food intake and “outtake” can vary by the individual bunny, I am just looking for some hard facts regarding this. It would be interesting to hear from someone who is experiencing it.

I know I keep track of the date I start using pellets, hay, and litter. I like to know exactly how long my supplies last, and I like to average out my costs at the end of the year. It’s just a dorky thing I like to do.

I will stick to small buns the smallest I can find.   tehee  For now the 2 small ones I have are just right.

That is great you were able to find a nice Flemmie to take in.  You sound so excited.  I wonder how loud his thump will be. lol. Maybe you can get a video of it.

Looking forward to more pics too.  Enjoy your little  uh big bunny.
