        Ok two random questions:

People have mentioned a cereal that they give to their bunny as a treat?  I’m thinking somthing like a corn puff??  Anyone?

And I hand made a list of vegetables on an index card, but I somehow lost it…. strange since it was in my wallet.  Anyhow, many have mentioned shrinking down the list and even laminating it (funny).  How do I exactly do that?  It didn’t seem to work for me.

        TIA!

We actually don’t recommend cereal as treats for buns at all. It’s best to stay away from grains altogether. A much better treat would be fresh herbs or small bits of fruit or rasins.

To shrink the list, I just go thru the printer options and reduce the size that way.

Yeah, I thought it was weird, but I swear I’ve heard of people giving their bunnies some cereal snack, no biggie, they get enough good stuff. That makes sense to go through the printer, thanks Beka!

Hi Ruffles, Beka is right, we discourage cereal and human snacks as a treat as they can be quite fattenting and not really good for your rabbit.  However some of us here (like me) bake our own bunny cookies, that way we can control what goes in the finished product.  A sprig of mint works well too!   This is just an idea but maybe you can start your own little herb garden too.

Here is a discussion we had (includes recipes) from our FAQ section:

A couple of oats make a really good treat for a bunny I’ve heard of people giving their bunny cheerios or Shredded Wheat for a treat, but Mr. Bunny didn’t think of the Cheerios as food, lol.

I think using flour is safe-I wouldn’t really recommend it though-just very carby
I would use whole oats inplace-as those are OK in small quantities.
