I just had to post this, my pitbull crystal thinks that my rabbits are her puppies. She goes into their pen when the gate is open and grooms them and the funny thing is the rabbits will snuggle with her, it seems like they really enjoy spending time with her. When they are out running around crystal never lets them out of her sight, she wants to make sure they are always safe. She will even guard them from the other dogs, I wish more people could see pitbulls in this light.

My personal Opinion with Pit Bulls is that it is all in how they are raised – and you are doing it right!

I have heard they are fiercely loyal, and the reason they can be aggressive is to protect “their family”.
Mkeene10 – do you find this to be true? I’m just wondering.

Crystal looks like a total sweetie on the bed with the bunny’s!

That is soooooo precious! I LOVE those pics!!!! I think any kind of dog can be a nice dog as long as they are trained right, and that any dog can end up mean if thats what they are taught.

i can’t even imagine that big ol slobber tongue grooming those iddy biddy bunnies! lol! Its great that they like it. and your babies look so cute in that pic!

What kind of buns do you have? I can’t get over how cute they are! Is the B&W one a lion head? I want a B&W lion head to match Boston! and a B&W dutch….my own little B&W bunny fam!

I have found crystal to be very loving towards everyone she meets. I have had young children play with her, taking toys out of her mouth and have never had a problem. Thats not to say that if she saw someone hurting me that she wouldn’t protect me. I have never seen any aggression in her towards people or animals. I have had her in training since she was a puppy, she has her CGC and we are back in training for a refresher.

She was my foster 3 years ago when she was found in a drug bust and she never left, she was just special and needed a home where someone could afford the medical bills (she had really really bad skin problems and to this day can only eat a raw diet, can’t go in the snow without boots on or her feet get raw, and is allergic to grass) and a loving home. She is a wonderful “foster mom” when ever a rescue animal comes into our home crystal will mother it which seems to make the rescue animal more comfortable and relaxed.

When the rabbits are in their pen she will go check on them and the rabbits come up to the fence and greet her, it is so cute to watch them kiss each other through the fence. she is the best dog i have ever had and i am lucky that she found me.

Wow, that is so neat!!!! Goes to show that one of the most feared breed of dogs can be one of the SWEETEST and MOST CARING dogs! What precious pics! I’d love to see them interact with each other. What a site it must be at grooming time! Too cool!

Too funny. It is nice to hear success stories of those types of dogs. It is sad to see them when they have been abused. My neighbor has a few of them. You are doing much better with yours than they do with theirs.

Crystal sounds like a really special girl.
So cool that you rescued her, and from a drug bust no less!
Sounds like it was meant to be!

Wow! That is great to see! At first I thought Crystal may have exp a false pregnancy at some point as this can create unusual bonds between pets, but after reading your other post, sounds as if she is just a GREAT dog. What a lovely family you have there. I can’t believe how big Gizmo looks next to Shamrock in that picture!

I know I always thought Gizmo was so small compared to dudley but then I see him next to shamrock he looks so big. Shamrock is just the smallest little thing. Crystal always amazing me at what she does, she is by far the smartest dog i have ever had, the most loving and caring too. My family was a bit nervous to say the least when I told them I was adopting a pitbull but she quickly melted their hearst with her big sad brown puppy dog eyes. I love watching her when she’ll just sit by the pen and watch the rabbits, I’ll tell “wheres your babies” and she’ll run into my room and sit by the pen like “there right here, their ok”

How awesomely cute is your little fuzzy family? I’m kind of jealous. That room has a nice theme to it too!
