So today I was at work and I cheaked though this lady who was buying bunny food and i asked her what kind of bunnys she had….and she said she was trying to get rid of them. She has two, ones a male whos white with black around his eyes and the others a female. Nethir are fixed…..So thats a big no (The male with my three unfixed females >.<) They sounds so sweet though, around two years old she said....

But I keep telling myself I cant afford to have 6 bunnys, and Josh would never let me get them……..But I cant stand the though of them going to a bad home or being eaten or something!!!

……..I gave her my email and told her to mail me if she really couldnt keep them and noone else can take them….(Shes moving and cant take them)

Why do I get myself into these situations? >.<

Hogeeze…I wish I could take them! 0_o Sounds like the male could be a hothot.

I’m sorry, but you’d have to rip my heart still beating from my body before I would move anywhere without taking my bunnies with me.

I can relate. It’s so hard wanting to take in all the unwanted bunnies but knowing you just can’t.

That is frustrating. It is so important that you recognize your limitations and don’t go beyond what you can realistically handle. No one can save them all. Even people in rescue know that for every one they can save, many will not get the chance. It’s a sad reality, but you can only do so much. It’s irresponsible for anyone to take on too much b/c it might be detrimental to the ones we already have and the care they will receive. Also, the fact that you do not have adequate medical care for your buns as it is indicates to me that this is not a path you would want to go down.

I wish her luck in KEEPING (or at least finding a good home for) those bunnies.

What I don’t get is why people say they are moving and can’t take their pets. I DO get if your selling your house because of the economy or something like that.
But the excuse that your ‘moving out of province’ so the dog has to go? I see that ad all the time. Last time I checked dogs were not illegal in any province!! And I do not accept ‘moving to a no pet’s aparement’ either. You got a pet, that means you do not so much as LOOK at a no pets apartment let alone sign a lease and move into one.

                  Disgusting.

tiger.lily I feel your pain. I want them all. I’m glad you let her know she could contact you if she can’t find homes. Perhaps if worse comes to worst you could take them on and rehome them yourself? Let me know if it comes to that I can send you our screening questions we use at my shelter to help you out.

tiger.lily, you did the right thing by asking that person, even though now you know about the buns and their situation.
I agree with Beka 27, in that it isn’t helping anyone taking on more than they can look after, so fostering like KK suggested may be a way for you to help some of these rabbits.
