After we got back from a bunny bonding car ride- we brought in some fresh snow (it is snowing here in SW Michigan).  I put Cotton and Schroeder in first together to finish their bonding session- and I did not take pics as theirs turned out to be too “busy” for nice pics- Schroeder finally go the courage to hump Cotton.

Next we brought up Penny to play in their second hand used snow- so she did some chinning on the snow chunks, and a little pee and poo- but she seemed to like the snow and the chance to “claim” it.

Next time I will let Cotton and Schroeder have separate times in the snow- and I think I will let Penny have the snow first next time.

So cute, but shouldn’t she have little bunny mitties on?

Gosh she is cute! I don’t think I’ve seen pics of her on her own.

HAHAHA! Penny claims the snow…”that snow chunk is mine, and that snow ball is mine, all mine!” HAHA!

Katnip, I’m 20 miles north of you in GH. I’d never thought to bring snow inside! Looks like fun!

Later I looked in the bathtub- I had left everything to melt- and there were dog footprints in the snow!   Our dogs were sneaking into the bathtub to try to “steal” the few poos that Penny felt was necessary to “claim” her snow.  Usually the dogs don’t get to eat the poos when they are frozen- so this was a treat for them too I guess.  (Yuck)

I have never been able to get my dogs to not eat the poo- so I have never tried very hard.  They used to eat wild bunny poo in the yard until we blocked off all rabbit access to the fenced in yard.  And they watch the indoor bunnies now waiting for the chance to eat a stray poo or two.  Considering how bland a rabbit diet as I can’t believe their poo is that tempting to the dogs- but since we have 2 dogs- 3 yrs old and 2 1/2 yrs old- they are competitive with each other and I think that makes it worse.

Well, they must have gotten into Penny’s cage too when I had her upstairs because later that night when we were watching TV, Molson with seemingly no effort- barfed a big pile of bunny poo and hay.  He must have seen scarfing out of the litterbox- and apparantely all the hay did not sit well with his tummy.  It was disgusting!

Katnip my dog LOVES to try and eat the rabbit poo, it’s so gross I’ll never understand it… and our little kitten likes to play with any stray ones she can find, she bats them around the kitchen like she’s playing soccer and she has more than enough toys. Apparently bunny poo is very attractive to other house pets lol
