Since Cotton turned 2  he is soooo affectionate.   I came home yesterday evening.  I greet him and let hiim out same for Ruby.  Cotton gets on top his house and sticks his head waaaaaaay out for pets.  HE just loves pettings. Gosh what a boy.

Ruby she is a shy little one.   Usually at this time I go spend time with her.  I had gone in for something else.  She came out from under her off the ground house and checked out my feet…

I go to pet her and she runs back under her house…

I figured out she likes her pettings on her head not her cheeks.  And she thumps a lot.  Silly girl.

Well let me go give her some attention and do some grooming too.  They both need it.

Mr. Bunny was also super-affectionate today. He melted into a “pet my head” pose and then I pet him for about 20 minutes nonstop. And I couldn’t stand still without him coming over and grooming my ankles!

it is so nice to hear they are affectionate.  Butterscotch used to like pets and he like to be held and he would lie on my shoulder and lick my cheek.  he has decided he dosn’t want to be held at all and hasn’t licke in weeks.  He and Snowflake were neutered lat Wednesday and they have been a little out of sorts for the rest of the week but they did very well all considered but nether on of them has been affectionate and they still eat out of my hand but run the other way when they are out and i come into the room.  i read the rabbits can develop a close relationship with their owners i just wonder how long it take and if they ever really get comfortable.  Im just a bit down today because they have been so distant but maybe it has something to do with being 6 months old too???

6 months old yes sounds like the time they become different than they were b4 hormones kicked in…..  The hormones will die down and about 1 yr old if not sooner they will come back around.

Ruby comes out when I go in the bathroom she otherwise is under her cage resting.  She used to stay under the cage but she is coming around again.   Her little girl surgery was I think in November?

she still grunts at me if I move my hand to fast in her face or accidentally get too close to her chin while petting her she bites too.  I get confused with my petting hand and my other hand holding my book to read when I visit her. Sometimes when I do the previuosly mentioned thing she will grunt/bite.

I have to stop reading I guess…. rofl…   to keep control of my petting hand

thanks for the encouragement! I just love these little guys and tonight was better they came up to me and ate out of my hand and took the papaya tablets. They really are good little guys. Butterscotch weighed in at 2 lbs and Snowflake is 3 1/2 lbs. the vet said they are real minnies. I have to be real patient with them they are only 6 months. I am anxious for them to be happy. I am gonna get them a hutch from my friend who has two bunnies also but they out grew the hutch and a mini maze. They love toys and play with all of them maybe in a few months they will play with me with the toys. I took their first cage and put newspaper in it and they go in there and tear up the paper and I have a big cardbox full of newspaper and they dig in there and chew on it and they have a cardboard tube they run through. I have been changing them back and forth in the exercie pens so they don’t get territorial and they get nose to nose often and no problem so hopefully next month they will rebond. The vet said they look real good and I am doing a good job with them now I just have to continue reading up on bonding. They are both doing a good job using their litter boxes and go back to the pen when they are out to use the box so all in all I am real happy with them. we have a travel trailer so in May we will try traveling with them a little bit and see how they like it. They use to like before it got really cold here we would put them in the car and they would both go to sleep in their cage. we took them to my daughter’s with us when they were younger and they did just fine.
