And I’m pretty excited about it and hopeful.

I had found the number, oddly enough, of a vet closer to me than my current one while browsing the Oxbow site last week. (Apparently they are a vendor for Oxbow products.) So I called them this morning to see if they had rabbit savvy vets on board. (that would make a cute little yellow sign on the window of your car…lolz)

They said they saw rabbits, but mostly the healthier ones (good to note for possible future nail trims) and so I asked them for a referral. (I didn’t identify myself, I wanted to go incognito.)

They recommended, get this, the vet hospital that my son’s dog went to when his back was broken!  I spoke with the receptionist (who confirmed my dog had been seen there when she looked up my name in her computer) for a few mintues and she seemd much more comfortable with the whole subject of exotics care and said they have TWO docs there that see bunnies. So I pressed further…do these docs see bunnies as livestock, or as house bunnies? She said definitely house bunnies, and in a tone that implied compassion for our little furry friends. So I jumped in with both feet and decided to make an appointment for Mimzy. At first they would only be able to see him next Friday…but then she found one for this Saturday at 11, so I took it.

It is sounding like hope may have been restored to find out what is causing Mimzy’s nasal problems. I am just shaking in anticipation, there is must something about the sound of these people that pokes that little voice inside that says, “It’s going to be alright.”

When I think of all the stuff we’ve gone through lately, and how frustrating it was to not be able to make my appointment with my regular doctor yestereday, (due to the car crash), I have to wonder…was this meant to happen this way? Could I finally have found someone who may cure Mimzy of his troubles?

And if so…that would be good. He is showing signs of his confinement physically now (I noticed a sore on one of his front toes last night-Neosporin-ed it) and to my dismay, Fiver had a sneezing fit last night. It could be spreading, whatever it is. (Kind of doubt allergies at this point.)

So perhaps soon, we may have a new vet for the bunnies. Could I aks you all hold a good thought for Mimzy as we see this new vet? (And on a Saturday too…that’s epic!)

Maybe the nightmare is over at last!

And here’s the odd thing, I had lost the number to the first vet until I picked up my Bible this morning and realized I’d used the paper I’d written the number on for a bookmark in Job. 0_o

You can make of that what you will. ^_^

Don’t you just love it when everything just falls in line like that? :3 Having experienced it myself, I’m a true believer in divine intervention.

              MM,

That sounds like a great plan. First, you can never go wrong with a second opinion. Even if you like your first vet best, you get an option of more expertise, or even consultations between vets to get proper diagnosis & treatment. Not surprised that the practice that is so good with Shadow will be taking on skilled exotic vets.

I’d say help is definitely on the way. I’d also suggest you move the book mark/paper. Maybe to the Garden of Eden, or Noah’s Ark? Job- even he had enough already. Here’s a cartoon you’ve probably seen but…

                ^ Love that cartoon!

Mimz!! That’s great news!! What a detective you are! My vet I choose after weeks of research turned out to be my family’s dogs vet who treated her and diagnosed her tumour-coincedence?

*dances around* I’m glad you can get another opinion!

I have to say, I am not particularly keen on having this vet talk to my other vet (because I fear I wouldn’t be able to go back to her if I should ever need to without bad feelings on her part) but the main thing is getting Mimzy diagnosed. He continues to sneeze and blow little snot bubbles. And his little blistered toe has me worried he may be forming abscesses. Got to nip that in the bud.
Fiver hasn’t had a fit since the other night, so I’m crossing my fingers that it’s not a contagious thing and no one else is affected. Pip is her usual cranky pants self, totally normal.

This wasn’t Shadow’s vet, Pam, sorry to confuse, this was Taiku’s vet we’re going to tomorrow…the one he saw after his back was fractured by the hubby running over him.

Honestly, if this works out well, we’ll probably have a new vet anyway. My son says they are really nice people there (he went in with Taiku after his accident)

No real detective work on my part, K&K…just that little voice poking me in the head saying…”What’s the harm in asking a few questions?”

Job…lolz. Pam I’ve been knee deep in Job for about three weeks. I was a Job’s Daughter, (young girl’s version of the Masonic order) as a matter of fact, so I know the story well. Sometimes it helps when you’re having a rough time to read about others who had it far worse.
