If you look above at the green banner and mouse over the Bunny Info heading for the drop down menu, you’ll see Cool Habitats. Click the Cubes section and there are pix of many different types of NIC cube set ups. I’d say select one you would like to make and just count the squares. Usually one to 3 boxes are plenty for a simple cube pen, even for 2 bunnies. Depends on whether you’re enclosing them or building a high condo, or just a fence type of enclosure. Don’t forget the Exercise pen option (sold for dogs usually) that has high sides and an open top. I’ll attach a link to a video that shows a quick and simple way to construct one.

Check out this whole series. She may have several different construction videos for habitats to try.

You’ll need a lot of zipties to stabilize it, as well as long wooden dowels (rods) to support the levels. It might take some trial and error to make it very sturdy. I’ve never had much luck with building stuff out of grids, besides bunny-proofing, so I do xpens. But I know if horizontal space is an issue, it is a good option to build up. Absolutely look at the Cool Habitats page for some ideas.

This is a good pic.  You can see how the levels come together.  This one is 2 grids deep (I probably would not do only 1 grid deep, you want some depth in the condo) and 3 wide, 4 high.  I think 4 or 5 high is the highest I would go.  You want to make sure you’re tall enough to clean the top level.

This is from the House Rabbit Network… http://www.rabbitnetwork.org/articles/houses.shtml

If you watch the second link I posted above, he shows how he reinforces the cubes with wooden supports.
