I had read here on bb a good while back about picking up rabbits to say up or what ever to let them know you are about to pick them up.

Well Cotton had got to running from me a lot cause I didn’t do that.

Recently I started telling him I am going to pick you up or petting when I was going to pet him.   The pick you up he learned what that means. HE may run 2 places then to his litterbox to await being picked up. He likes being picked up there.  Guess for some reason makes him feel more secure.  He also stands up like and leaps to my shoulder as I pick him up.    HE doesn’t run from me like he used to.    Treats helped too.

When I say pet he knows I am not coming to pick him up.   I may pick him up once a day  or every few days for grooming,  meds.  checking his lip etc.  He is doing much better with me.

For pets he has really been putting his head way out and down asking for pets when I get near him and he is on top his house.  HE likes laying up there on his towels.

Oh Cotton! You’re such a sweet bunny to be nice to your mama! I know she loves you SOOOOOOOOOOO much!

          Great job, BT!

Huh…I think I’m going to try that with Rupert! I’m teaching him to jump through a hoop right now and we’ve been doing some good bonding (he likes Dave more then me-hope that’s changing lol) so that may help him too!
