  So on top of having all the veterinary issues I have of late (and still not knowing quite what is wrong with Mimzy) just before I go to walk Shadow today, the husband discovers that Taiku, Shadow’s son (you’d never know it, the brain cells are DEFINITELY NOT the same!) has gone and torn all the pink insulation pads off the walls of the beautiful dog house hubby had made out of our front porch earlier this winter and strewed them across the floor. (granted we only had them tacked up there behind visquine, but still…we’ve got -40 temps forecast for this weekend…how the heck is this dumb mutt supposed to stay warm now???)
  
  He’s NOT coming in the house…so help me….
  
  I am so done. Stick me with a friggin’ fork. God knows I love all my animals to extremes…but I am SO tired of dealing with a dog who hasn’t got the sense God gave a Brillo pad! (and believe me, he’s eaten those too.)
  
  So I think when hubby goes into town the next few days, we’ll be investing in some Bitter Appple. I know it doesn’t work on the buns or cats, and right now I feel like spraying an entire can up this stupid dog’s nose I am so frustrated with him! (of course, I won’t, and when I go out to see him I’ll be cooing and gurgling because I do love him…just…holy cow!)

  OH my goodness…. Maybe the dog likes the freezing cold weather? some dogs are just dumber than a box of rocks.

  Bitter apple works quite well for dogs, unless they are determined (like neurotic licking or something along those lines)

  I think he mostly tore at it with his paws, but still…what a darned fool dog.
  Needless to say, hubby is NOT happy. Can’t say I blame him.
  The difference between him and Shadow is like night and day. Shadow is SO intelligent I’d almost let him balance my checkbook or set my VCR. Taiku? Well, he makes a good doorstop. >_<

  Well I beg to differ on Taiku’s intelligence. He must be missing his mate and has devised a clever way to be brought into the house with him – by destroying his own house! Too bad it hasn’t quite gone according to his plan…

  Is that because this is now where he’s spending the night? Poor Taiku….doorstops have their place…they stop the door from whacking you on the behind when you go thru.

  OMG Mimz I think I too would be pulling my hair out as well. How frustrating. I don’t suppose you could put some other type of insulation in there? I’m sure you’ve already considered that too, but I thought I would just throw that out there.

  The hubby cannibalized a few road signs from his business to screw up on the indoor walls of the dog hut, so he can’t get to the insulation anymore. ^_^

  I gotta say… I sympathize with you. I have a big dumb pitbull that was my brother’s when he lived here. I love him, but jeez. Seriously a freaking idiot.
