Hehe, dang smart rabbits! Always gotta wonder who’s training who.

Ha ha! Wasn’t me! Rabbits do like the old schedule – just think of the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland…….. They are so smart, they tune into things you start to do before turning in for the night, I’m sure. And they’re a bit psychic!

OMG Spockie had the same ability to tell time!

We used to watch TV from 7-8PM, and between 5 min. of 8 and less than 5 after, he’d put himself to bed. We thought it was the closing theme song from West Wing (I’ve told this story before, but he’d lay on the carpet facing the TV when it was on each night), but several times it was not on and he STILL went to bed at exactly the same time.

We watched the sun, we wondered about our own movements. Finally, I pointed out the huge kitchen clock he faced and decided he could tell time. Duh.

my buns too! if i’m late feeding pellets (normal time is betw/ 9-9:30pm) i have two ornery buns sitting inside their pen glaring at me sideways.

When we first added Odie a stray catahoula hound to our home  at about 9-9:30 every nite she would go to her kennel cage in the bedroom then she would come out sit in the hallway staring at us.  She would go back n forth then we would see her stick her head out the door.  She would give a little wuff saying come on humans time for bed.

We didn’t usually go to bed til 11.  She wanted us to bed early. Heeha

Pets what they know amazing.

BT, something similar happened to me when I dog sat my sister/brother-in-law’s tenterfield terrier in their home. I was working on the computer in the evening and he came up kept sitting and staring at me, then jumping up on the lap and off again. I couldn’t figure out what he wanted. When I told them this and the time of night etc, my sister said he was telling me “Bedtime!”.

Coco licks my feet at 7:30 a.m. – nearly every day. Its the “Hey Human – get up and get me my salad” licking.

Yep, the routines. And no matter how many times you see it, it’s still amusing!

have you ever had company over at bunny bedtime? it’s the funniest thing. Mike will say, are the buns in bed? i peek my head in the bunny room and say, YUP, they put themselves to bed already.

the first time, the looks on their faces are priceless.

I felt like I had a miracle this morning.
I threw off both our schedules by working until 9PM last night. So let Herself run around late while watching a moving on TV till midnight. This morning she came out but wasn’t very hungry, which I attribute to late snacks, or very early tied-her-over breakfast munching. So when I said Bunny Breakfast Treat, she didn’t run for the cage. (See pix of bunny squished half under chair in new post.) I decided to get washed while waiting for her to come out from under, and in no time she was watching me in the bathroom. I said “Bunny Breakfast time” again, and treat, and she disappeared.

I found her stretched out in her house, next to the breakfast dish, all cozy. She’s putting herself to bed and back for breakfast by herself! It’s working!
Funny thing is that she will only enter her house from one direction up the ramp. Won’t jump up (same height) from the side, even if the treat is closer.

I love you guys for teaching me how to train her to do this.

Maryann does a cage rattle at 7:10 am every morning. And she even manages to catch daylight savings time too. She’s never shaken it at 6:10 or 8:10, only 7:10.

Oh, and did I mention that she also predicts earthquakes?
