I always make sure they have plenty of extra hay and usually the first signs of heavy shedding send me to buy some fresh pineapple. Going to buy some today for Stormy (although I seen the price of it, yikes….). And, obviously, grooming daily.

Is there any other precautions anyone takes to avoid hair blockage during molting?

i try to vacuum their pens and maze out more frequently. the maze will actually get little fur tumbleweeds in the corners. in the pen there will be a solid layer of fur underneath the willow tent where they lay. i up the papaya tablet intake to 2 per day. they get the same hay, replenished the same way as normal, same veggies. i do everything pretty much the same, but more frequent grooming.

Not really other than brushing or plucking. My rabbits always have hay and water so I don’t think there’s much more I can do in that respect.

I groom more with all 4 combs  hairbuster   furminator and slicker oh the flea comb  with handle too.

If there are pearl bracelet poops I put some petromalt on their foot.   I try to give them pineapple along with the papaya tablets.

I up the papaya tablet intake. Felony is a flipping furball! I’ll usually up the papaya tablets up to 3 spaced out throughout the day. (unless of course I get him some pineapple or other fruits, then I only give him one or two) I comb him out daily and I have to clean his cage daily. Although he is great because during his molts he pulls off his hair, balls it up and stuffs it under his litterbox… He’s a weirdo bunny.

bunnybites has a good selection of grooming tools.   That first comb under grooming is like the first one I start with on Ruby.
