Since I set up the bunny maze right in front of their condo front door, I’ve noticed someone has been peeing right at the condo door.  I haven’t had any pee issues since Leo got neutered over a year ago, so its a bit frustrating.  Is this his way of marking the entrance to the maze or a way to let everyone (my cats) know that you can mess w/ the maze, but don’t cross the pee line into my condo?   Just thought it odd.

My rabbits act the same way whenever I change the setup or location of the cage or if I buy new furniture. Basically, I think they are marking there “new” territory. Mine usually stop doing it after a few weeks but I do have to keep scrubbing down the area where they pee with vinegar. Hopefully your buns will stop soon.

It sounds to me like territorial pee and someone is protective of the “prime” spot by the maze and your interpretation that “don’t cross the pee line into my condo” is pretty accurate but can also be interpreted as “don’t cross the pee line into my maze.” Sorry that I cannot remember, but do you have cats and have you been able to observe them and see if they do use the maze as a means to get into the condo? For some reason I think you have cats and could totally be mixing you up with someone else. So sorry ahead of time!

I have 4 cats.  The only time that a cat has gotten into the bunny condo is when Katie was chasing a moth and it went into the condo, she chased after it.  Phoebe once got in when I was cleaning out the litterboxes and she just walked right in.  Otherwise, they have never cone into the bunny condo.

I caught Katie in the maze the other day…she was trying to get attention so she walked through the first floor of the maze, twice.  Else my cats are too fat to get into the maze.  I’m really hoping that the peeing stops….its just messy.
