the spraying SHOULD go away, it’s very likely to go away. that being said, i can’t *guarantee* that it will, b/c the longer you wait to have the neuter done, the more the spraying may become habit, but even if it does not go away completely, it should lessen a great deal. it’s good he’s being neutered before one year, that gives me great hope that he will stop spraying.
K&K’s advice is great. i agree about the vet who said it’s very high risk. they don’t sound confident or comfortable to perform it. some vets would rather say it’s too dangerous and try to dissuade you, than admit that they are not good at something or don’t know how… this might or might not be the case, but if the vet is not confident, i would not be confident in them.
a neuter is a simpler procedure than a spay. in most cases, the boys bounce back very quickly, within 24 hours they are eating and pooping and acting somewhat normally. i bet he will do just fine!
