This is just a reflection on half a year of Layla-ness

When we first got her, she couldn’t get enough attention and pats. Just a few weeks after I wrote this:

“She chews on walls, carpet, doors, furniture and me and she has BOUNDLESS energy.

I love her still and she’s a womderful pet when she’s really really tired but mostly she’s just psychotic.

She’s a baby, so she’ll calm down right? Charlie is just chilled most of the time and his bursts of energy are fun because they are bursts but Layla is like the duracell bunny – she just goes and goes and goes!”

Now – 5 months after I wrote that she’s so calm and cool. Her and Charlie are mostly bonded and she loves me.

She loves me! She follows me around and is always flaked out near me but she’s still mostly a no-touchies bunny, although she’s getting much better. She only asks for pets when Charlie is getting pets but if I pass her I always give her a quick scratch behind the ears.

So here is what she looked like on the first night I got her

And the second is her today…I don’t think she’s changed very much – she’s still as cute & fluffy as ever

Oh she is beautiful! I’m glad to hear she’s coming around. I don’t really know the whole story as I haven’t been here long.. but it sounds like things are going well.

Oh, what a great story. That’s great for you and for Charley. She’s just adorable.

She is just as cute as ever. Glad things settled down with her psycho energy.

The main difference I see is her sooty points have lessened but the lastest pic could be post shed (?) So good she’s settled and is more affectionate now. She does love you……..more than she loves BF…….hehe!

JG – I didn’t even notice the points..I’m off to stare at Layla for a while to see how much of her black face she’s lost!

Will it come back? She’s just finished a heavy shedding about a month ago so she must have lost it then. She was losing so much of her face fur that she was sneezing constantly allergic to herself!

She’s so flipping cute! (…quietly adds Layla to the bunnap list…) Felony actually gets darker after a shed. It cracks me up because whenever he is molting, he pulls off loose fur, balls it up and puts it under his litterbox.
