3 vet visits later and I am still working with Tonks on retraining her litter habits. She peed outside her box today so I snapped a pic. Gross I know but I want other bun owners opinions if her urine looks ok.

Did you find it like that or had she just done it? Often it’s a pale yellow colour but will change to an orangey red after being exposed to the air for a while. If it is that colour straight away……….I don’t know. Some do have a darker urine and some vegetables can colour it too. Were the vet visits in regards to this issue?

No, it has been there a while I found it when I got home from work. I am feeding her pretty much the same veggies. Only new thing is I usually get Timothy at Target and this month I got it at petsmart. The vet visits were for a fungal infection she had. She has been on 2 rounds of antibiotics. I am hyper aware of everything right now. I know I have to be patient. And other then her litter box issues she is acting same as always. I didn’t think about the color changing after a period of time passing. I will keep watching her!! Thanks!!

Oh sorry, I forgot about that, you did say in another thread…..I see pee that colour if I find a puddle that’s been there a little while.

ETA: Has she improved somewhat with most in the box?  I looked at other thread and it seems you established it was most likely territorial/behavioural.  Few qu’s: what kind of test did they do when you first had this issue arise?  Also, what were the steriods given for?

Sometimes medication will change the color of urine and this looks okay to me – I have a few bunnies that pee brown/orange/red.

I’d read up on pee color the first time Spockie’s was a bit darker/reddish.
Turns out they can pee that color, or brown, or red, at any time and not really for a particular reason, but it’s OK. As Sarita said, some have a different color always. Some have it change once in a while.

I’d just watch for any other symptoms, like poopy butt. But you’re treating her already, so it could easily be the meds. We usually see pee after it’s soaked into litter, so not always easy to know its true color.

Yeah, that’s normal. I had this freak out almost 2 years ago when Felony had an accident outside of his litter.

I’m not sure the name of the steroid I can’t find my paper I had the print out on.  She was treated for a fungal infection she was red and irritated right out side her wee hole and all around her tail and behind it. She also had wet pee butt. That has all improved i’m still giving her a bath once a week.  She is not pooping as much when shes out running but she still pooping in her xpen ALL over the place. She had pee accident on the couch today so I immediately put her back up.  Only time will tell!!  Thanks for the support I really appreciate it!!!
