  It didn’t surprise me at all, while his siblings kept getting bigger he just kept looking more and more wasted even though Starbuck was feeding him. It’s better for him I am sure. I am sad and relieved all at the same time. Just wanted to let you all know that he lost the battle.

  Oh Sarah. Im sorry! Even if you thought it would happen, it doesnt make it any easier. But you did what you could to save him and made his life here easier until he left. Poor little guy. Just think..now he is a whole baby bunny on the other side of the rainbow bridge, binkying and playing!
  
  I understand why you are relieved. Are you going to bury him somewhere?

  Thank you, unfortunately we are not allowed to bury animals around here. I asked Robert to take care of him and asked him NOT to tell me how or what he did.
  
  Starbuck also actually had 4 babies, I was just cleaning out the cage and we found a baby that she had buried really well. So Runty has a brother wherever little baby bunnies go when they die.
  
  I feel terrible. Poor little dudes.

  Ohhhh there were four. Geeee. Poor things. Well Runty won’t be alone. HE has a bro or sis to play with on the other side.

  oh no! for Runty and the lil baby who was buried. this is probably better for everyone… i know it’s hard, but now the surviving babies can get the most nourishment and they’ll grow to be big and strong and healthy.

  I’m so sorry, but know, mother nature has a way of working things out for the best. I know that isn’t much, but I am very sorry. It has to be hard but its for the best

  Oh I’m so sorry about poor little Runty. You did the best you possibly could for him, and his mom was obviously doing what she could too but sometimes it just isn’t meant to be.
  
  We lost a little one that we’d adopted. He was the runt of the little and soo much smaller than the others, but so cute. We adopted him from a shelter where they assured us he was definitely old enough to be away from mom, but within a few days he was dead. We couldn’t get him to eat at all, even with force-feeding KMR. We had him for such a short time but it was so difficult having to say goodbye to him.

  I’m sorry to hear about the loss of her two babies – but I definitely agree with everyone else that none of them would have had a chance if you hadn’t saved them. If the neighbors were going to dump them outside, they surely were not taking care of them properly which is probably why she had two babies that did not make it. It sounds like the other two are in the clear though since they have made it so far, I’m looking forward to hear how they do growing up!

  Oh, I’m so sorry – hugs to you. At least Runty’s siblings are thriving. I’m sorry you found another little runty too that didn’t make it. I understand your feeling of sadness and relief.
