I am thrilled! Not sure who read the thread I posted in House Rabbit Q&A about buying from a breeder, but we went yesterday and I got to meet her(Debbie) from Herring Hoppers, and meet her buns. I just want to say that where she kept her rabbits was in immaculate condition, and every rabbit there was happy, bright eyed, clean and healthy. She is a wonderful person, very sweet and on top of things. When I asked what pellets she was feeding the bun I was gonna get and if I could have some to take home, she said yes and already had a bag of pellets she was planning on giving to me.
But anyway, about the sweet little newcomer!

He turned 4 months old on December 28th, and he’s a broken chestnut Holland Lop buck. Very lovable and sweet, you can hold him for as long as you like, and he falls asleep when you rub his ears. He handled the trip back SO well, it turned out to be about a 6 hour drive back instead of 5, because of the nighttime speed limits. He did great, ate and drank and just chilled the whole time. He has an ear tattoo because apparently Debbie has been showing him!!
I spent hours upon hours today looking at names on the computer and trying to choose one for him. I finally settled on DUNCAN! I love it. Duncan and Dallas!
I feel bad for him because he’s totally thrown off with the whole House-Rabbit idea! He was kept outside in a well ventilated shed type of thing back at Herring Hoppers, so that’s all he’s known his whole life. He’s never been around cats or dogs or carpet or music or TVs and fans! It’s all pretty crazy to him, but I think he’ll love it. He’s settling in pretty well, and is taking the cats as in stride as he can, for a bunny.
Yeah I know, you all just want to see pictures, not listen to my rambling! well here you all go:

First time meeting a kitty! my cat(Dora) is actually bigger than him, but she was crouching under my bed.

He has two matching white strips on his cheeks that look like lightning bolts!

I will take more pictures once he settles in better. I don’t want to make him more uncomfortable or stressed then he already is!

OMG DD I am so happy for you!!! Another loppy on the board! *SQUEE!*

I did see your other thread and I was wondering how you were going to pull this off. Good on ya!

*kicks BB.com to make pix come in faster*

          …taps foot…

          0o0 !

Oh good lord, he is the Adonis of Bunnydom! 0_0 What a thoroughly adorable cutie! Beautiful! Ooh, ooh! If you change your mind, can I have him? *makes plans for bun-napping anyway*

I’ve never seen coloring quite like that on a Holland lop. Four months you say? Gosh he’s a heartbreaker!
Love the name too. Oddly that one was on my list for my son when I was carrying him. ^_^

And your kitty is a sweetie too! ^_^ My cats get right up on the pen like that and if I’m not keeping a close eye, bunny could get a poke. I think Pip will give my black cat the bunny butt just to tease her. Works every time.

Oh my god he’s so cute. If I saw him, I’d steal him. I love holland lops. So are you going to try to bond him to your other bun?

LOL mimz, this kiddo isn’t going ANYWHERE! xD yes yes, lops are wonderful, I love them!
Ruffles, yep I’m going to try bonding him and Dallas, once Duncan gets neutered that is!
Dallas knows there is another bun in the house(or rather, room!) and it’s binky-central when he comes out into his pen.

I’m starting to see more of Duncan’s personality today, he is hoppin around having fun now. I found out he hates having his pellets in a bowl, he dumps them all over his litterbox and then sits outside the LB eating! Sort of defeats the purpose..but oh well. I thought maybe the bowl was too deep, so I got a super shallow one, but he tipped that as well! He is already using his LB to potty. He poos outside of it a lot, but is pretty consistent about peeing in it. This morning he did the bunny flop for about 15 minutes – yay!

What a beautiful lovely young bun.  Wow.  Isn’t he fortunate and so are you.  Glad to hear he is settling in.    And a very caring breeder.   That is wonderful.   There are some good  breeding people out there.   Glad you found a good one.

The poos probably will slowly subside once he’s made the place his but some buns just poo wherever. I found getting a small dust buster works wonders for that.

And I’ve also met more than a few rabbits that simply spill out their food before eating it. Dunno why but they do.

It isn’t that most bun lovers are against breeders due to the quality of life the rabbits have (although some are deplorable) but it is more that there are already too many rabbits out there without having to make more. But at least she cares for them and they aren’t just livestock to her.

Pudge diggs at his food then eats it. He seems to think the pellets are best at the bottom -_-‘ I think it might be because his dumb owner (moi) Used to put treats at the bottom as if it was a surprise reward for finishing dinna

                          anyways..

                          Awwwwwwwwww!
