She never touches the plastic bags.
If we don’t get the corners pulled all the way out (They’re grocery bags, not litter pan bag so they’re vaugely the wrong size, but the stretch if you go slow) she digs at them until they lie flat, but she never so much as touches them to chew or anything. She’s not really a chewer though. The only thing she has a real interest in are the smooth power cords…So we bought foam pipe insulation and covered those up.
We started her off wiht just the plastic litter boxes, but M hates hates hates the ammonia smell in the pans when they’re dirty. So we tried to line the one upstairs to see how she took to it and she didn’t even notice. Then we added them to the ones in her cage. Works great. Just remove the bag, tie it shut (with the handles) and then toss it in the garbage. It makes cleaning her cage a breeze. We pick up the litter pans, rebag them…then dump off her blankets, sweep/vaccum that mess off of her cage floor, wash her dishes and put in a clean blanket and we’re good to go. We’ve got it down to about 10 minutes to completely clean, replace all food and water and litter
The best part is, the only reason she has two pans is because she decides when the pans are dirty. And when the onein the other corner of her cage gets too dirty, she moves to her overflow pan and we empty the first one out and replace it
. Sometimes the pans are super grody and we clean them out first. Othertimes, she uses it once and then demands that we clean it.

OHh! and her mood. We let her out of her cage and she hopped around for about 10 minutes, then layed down on her bed int he corner. So we’ll leave her ther until she gets up again I guess. She isn’t going to hurt herself just laying there I suppose. Plus we have a gate on the stairs and she doesn’t jump on the furniture, so other than the coffee table (which she may try to climb on if I let her out of my sight) she can’t get into anything too bad.)
