I don’t mean to hijack your thread but I thoughI would add some pics of one of my bunnies- Cotton and 2 of our cats. Cotton as a baby used to cuddle with the cats- but as she got older and demanded to be groomed there was a communication barrier and the cats would usually not offer any grooming but wanted to nap with her. So Cotton became a bit of a bully and when they “refused” to groom her she would nip them in the belly and chase them away. So the cats tend to view Cotton as having the potential for a split personality and are wary of her now.
In these pics Cotton jumped onto the chair and chased one cat away by laying next to her a snuggling closer and closer, pushing on her until Oreo left. Pixel is a little more trusting and was not as willing to give up her half the chair so she stayed while Cotton practiced her loafing and disapproval. In the second pic- Cotton sat at the edge of the pet bed ot about 45 minutes watching the cat. I can tell by Mooney’s ears that he is very well aware the bunny is watching him but he is unwilling to leave. So they had a silent show down. Mooney (short for Moonshine) weighs 17 lbs, Cotton weighs about 5 lbs. So Cotton and my cats live in “pretend” harmony. LOL. Penny and the cats are fine- they respect each other and there has been no nips, but no cuddling either, only a few “test” grooms from the cats.
