I just can’t shake this cough of mine.  I feel fine otherwise, but I have an annoying cough (like a smoker’s cough, but not as productive if you know what I mean).  I was sick over Thanksgiving big time, and the cough just lingered, kinda comes and goes, but mostly has been staying with me lately.  So it’s occured to me that I could possibly have a Ruffles allergy?  Is this possible?  Are rabbit allergies mostly itchy, sneezy and watery eyes (which I don’t have), or can they be just a cough like mine?  I am going to see a doctor after the holidays, but I thought I’d see if anyone has experience with rabbit allergies.

        TIA!

PS I better not be allergic to my bun, I just finally got him how I want him (completely littertrained and totally cute).  I’ve been working hard with him to earn my trust and he is really coming around.  It would kill me if I was allergic.  I really love him.

coughing doesn’t souund like an allergy.  Probably just the sickness you had hanging around some.

            Cough’s can be allergic reactions.

            Are you an asthma sufferer?

If you are, sometimes having an allergy aggrivates your asthma and can cause your bronchial tubes to constrict. I posted my allergy precautions here https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/forumid/2/postid/90134/view/topic/Default.aspx

You could just not be getting over a cold-or you may have some ‘post nasal drip’ thats causing you to cough, or it couldl be allergies

Generally allergies manifest as runny/red/itchy eyes, dribly nose and possibly a cough -with just a cough It doesn’t sound like allergies but you could always get tested-or try some allergy medicine and see if it works?

BEpiphany, thanks for the link to your other post. I hadn’t seen it before. Yeah, maybe I don’t have an allergy, I just remember when my husband developed his allergy to my cat, I felt like he was always coughing. We do have some ioizer air purifiers. Maybe I’ll put one in his room to help with the air. I vacuum religiously, because dust drives me nuts and makes me itchy, so my house is relatively clean. I’m starting to think it isn’t an allergy, that feels better to me. Thanks.

could be the hay….i thought i was allergic to my bunny but it was actually that i was allergic to her hay! You would definitely have watery eyes if you were allergic to pet dander. that’s the most common symptom.

You know someone just said in another thread that the ionizers make asthma worse sometimes…maybe see if it makes a difference though!
